I recently tried Burgermeister‘s Hideaway and first I want to say that I fully agree with others that have said this is a Disney level production. Everything from the scenic design to the soundtrack, as well as the script and story was top notch. The show itself, although small in scale, was the most entertaining and unique show that I’ve seen at the park in the last five years at least.

The food and beverage side of things was also very strong. I only tried the cocktail flight, but it seems like they had something for everybody. The watermelon jalapeño margarita was legitimately the best mixed drink I’ve ever had in a theme park, if not anywhere overall. It was the perfect summer drink.

Overall, Burgermeister‘s Hideaway was very fun, and I strongly hope we will see more productions of this quality from the park’s culinary and entertainment departments in the future.

I am so excited to hear that the experience is top-knotch! Earlier this week I was chatting with the performers who were standing outside… they were both VERY enthusiastic, fun, and kind of to pose for multiple photo shoots. Does anyone know if there’s any food also, or just the drinks? And about how long the show is?

Experienced this yesterday for the 4pm slot. The sign-up process went about as poorly as I figured it could have gone. Was with a group of 6...there were clearly plenty of spots (only 2 other guests were in the room with us) but the online site would refuse to let me register. It took 5 separate employees at the entrance to finally get things sorted.

That being said, the experience was definitely very cool. All actors were fun and did a great job. The speaker for the burgermeister left some to be desired... It was quite difficult sometimes to hear what he was saying. I love the theming of the room, and all the photos on the wall were awesome to see. Like others have said, the popcorn is pretty damn good too.

That's.....odd. I tried on the site and it seems like it would let me. I feel like early on they limited to groups of 4. I wonder if they changed the booking page to show 6, but didn't change other limitations from 4.

From what I was understanding... And just having overall knowledge of how databases work... It seemed that when I added the group of six to my "cart" it put a "hold" of some sort on the spots. But when it decided to hold the spots, it also seemed to completely disregard the fact that I was the person who added them to the cart. The order disappeared from my cart, but it seemed to persist within the DB, causing it to show the 4pm time slot as "full". I believe a manager had to go into the system, delete my previous reservation, and then manually create another one for me. I paid that in the "candy store" and it seemed to go through fine.

The fact that they've added a point of sale system at the front had me thinking you would be able to book on the spot a little easier than what we witnessed.

I was having a great time while waiting to be called in listening to so many passers-by saying, "It's only a candy shop, what's the big deal?" or, "Ooh, the candy shop is opening again!" and lastly, and group of YouTube/Instagram personalities lament; "I wish they would have spent the money on a new ride instead" and "Fifty bucks per person and they can't even afford theming on PARTHENON."

Not the only silly exchange we had to deal with with the "influencers" on this trip, but I definitely had a laugh at that.

I been out of it for the last couple of weeks recovering from a bout of Covid so obviously I haven't been to the park till today so forgive me if this has been posted before but the Hideaway now has a sign listing show times and directing you to scan the QR code to make reservations.

I wonder why the Saturday the 17th doesn't show as either closed or sold out for reservations. There's just nothing at all.

Show times wouldn't interfere with the Terrortory.

No they just need to have a set number of shows per day, and probably more on weekends and holidays than weekdays. Offer a discount for booking 24 hours or more but offr walk ups. In fact have people in the parks that search out folks enjoying adult beverages and walk up to them with a spiel like, "hey, that drink good? You know theres a secret speakeasy near here that has some good drinks.Go to the candy store in Germany and tell them Bob sent you.....secret word is Black Forrest".

Sounds like a great way to have too many people show up and then really piss people off.

If there’s the space and someone shows up, yea let them in.

Don’t announce it in the park though. Then you get 30 people showing for 5 spots and you got a lot of pissed people.

As one of my employees likes to say: “your lack of prior planning is not my emergency.”

Yes. You’ve stated that 3 times now. I’m asking a follow up question that’s gone unanswered of what happens when more people than open spots show up?

Or are you going to seek out these people and ask them to pay to do something they haven’t showed interest in yet? Because for as much bellyaching as has been going on about added charges I can see them seeking out people to pay more going over so we’ll (/s).

Or what if they start telling friends “oh no need for a reservation, they will take you at the shop.” Then you have more people than the place can handle showing up unannounced.

I think a better option would be when people use the kiosk out front, have a splash page showing openings for times that day as an add on like I get online for all day drinks/QQ/Photokeys.

The Hideaway actors were out passing out maps with info to a "secret location" today. Love the little marketing.
Hummm……but it was a dumb idea when I mentioned it……
