As I said over in the London Rock thread: If that video and presentation in whole wasn't enough to tell you how bad this will be, then reference Entwined and the destruction of the round stage. Followed by the public outcry for the return of TIO.

That spawn is there for itself and itself only. Damn be the paying customer.

Are KD's numbers up or down? I think you need to stick to similar economies.

My personal experience: if I didn't have two-year passes, I don't know how often I'd go, because of last years government furlough and the possibility of a government shutdown and/or another furlough. I think a lot of BGW's customer base has been affected directly or indirectly by the government budget "issues."
I agree Nic, especially since a lot of local people are worried that from what I heard Ft Eustis and in Norfolk lots of jobs are gonna be lost due to military cuts from pentagon.

As for this rethemeing of BANBURY CROSS, people don't be surprised if it doesn't just happen there. Remember this year France at CT is gonna SPARKLE, so what's next gonna paint over Heatherdowns area to look like the YELLOW SUBMARINE.

My voice is little but ruin a charmed area for a show that's gonna be pretty much like KK with all that pre recorded music no I think not.

Ok a little rambling.

So instead of rethemeing BANBURY CROSS, why couldn't they just put the London phone booths as doors to the theatre and like DR WHO you get time warped and entered into the British Invasion LONDON ROCKS lobby rethemeing to match the show, and add the decor and theming in there not outside, and it be a journey back to that era, like an immersion and have show hosts dressed as characters like Sgt. Pepper, and other invasion characters. Than somehow make the exit thru Union Jax, so people can grab their pics, gifts, shirts and other items. That way you are part of the show.

I know dumb idea, but I thought this would help them from ruining the area into a big fluffy pillow and glitter looking area. What do you think? Sorry just a LIL idea that I ve been thinking of.

It would need to be TARDIS-blue Police Boxes!

I actually think this is a great idea. The show itself, I think, may be very cool. But it clearly doesn't match the area. But the concept of leaving Banbury Cross to go forward in time for the show is awesome, especially if all of the theming inside the Globe makes you feel as if you have entered a different time/place by being consistent.

(Sorry, I get excited by interesting event planning.)

ENTERTAINMENT should have NOTHING to do with outside theming in ANY way. That should be up to a master planning/architectural team for the park overall.

Entertainment should ONLY be entertaining, stages and personnel. And believe me, they have their hands full trying to anything worth while with that right now.

WHOMEVER is allowing him these decisions needs to go, also.

From what I gather from the past decade planning of actual structures is under Design and Engineering however thematic elements and overlays are under the jurisdiction of Entertainment. Purely conjecture though.

I'm not looking forward to this new retheme. I don't know, 60s London is one of those things that people still think the entirety of England looks like. And it just sort of bugs me on various levels. Like if you could pick the biggest stereotype, this would be it. (Besides, y'know drinking tea, and their dialect.) And that just makes me uncomfortable.

There's more to England in general, than 60s London, or British Invasion, or Doctor Who.

And on the subject of condemning other people's opinions. None of you should be doing that, as everyone has opinions. (I understand the concept of internet, if you aren't with us you're against us mentality.) And for those of you who say the negative ones who have no hope, should stop going. The "negative ones" do have hope. That's why they're still here, they have some hope that the park will return to it's former glory.

As far as people being upset about what they did to the Wilkkomenhaus (I probably butchered that spelling.), and being upset about Blood Banquet, and then experiencing it and liking it. It's almost as if you think people's opinions don't change. That once they are negative, they are always going to be negative. People are allowed to change their opinions, no matter the circumstances.

People's opinions might change on the retheme. It could end up better than expected, or it could end up worse. We don't know yet. There's no concept art, the retheme hasn't begun yet.

Like Oktoberfest

Bite your tongue!:p

Reading comprehension. I condemned no ones opinions.

I asked why they still go, as a serious question. I wanted a serious response and I got it. The point was ended there.

My argument was, it seemed as if they were telling people it was terrible, then they enjoyed it, instead of waiting for the finished product before condemning it.

Exactly.

There are plenty of things that we didn't like either, I would say I was 80% right when it came to HoS. We're perfectly capable of maintaining an open mind, but we also have been going to the park to be able to form predictions without being unfounded. If these predictions are an, "attack" l, then so be it.

Cody,

I can't speak for Germany and German stereotypes, because I don't know much about Germany. England is different, because we speak the same language. We watch their TV shows, listen to their music, and there's still this huge stereotype.

I won't bite my tongue on Doctor Who. The first couple of jokes were funny, now it's just irrelevant. And seems like every time England is brought up in the park, so is Doctor Who. (I do enjoy the show. I just don't understand the need to make a reference to it every time England is brought up at the park. Sorry. :/ )

Change is never good, that's why I still carry my pager and I am typing this on a commodore 64. Anyone want to come over and play Atari 3600? I have a whole stack of beta maxes we can watch. Oh, and I have Breakfast Club on laserdisk. CK, did you borrow my skinny tie and my aqua net? Sweep the leg, Johnny.
How is this not condemning? How this not making fun of the people's opinions who don't agree with you? I'm well aware that the negative side of things do this as well. It doesn't make it right, on either end.

That comment about asking why they go was not directed at just you. I've seen that question come up many times on this site. Every time somebody is negative about the park, people go to that reply. "If you don't like it, why are you going?"

It's called speculation. There are many times when people judge the preview before the final product. And if you try to tell me you've never done this before, you're lying. It is human nature to judge things, no matter how much or how little information we have. We need to see if it will be something we're interested in. Whether its the theme of an amusement park, a movie, or a friend who's trying to set you up on a date. It doesn't matter. We judge things prematurely all the time.

Nothing Dr Who will ever touch an SEAS park. Licensing will never be acquired by it because partials of it (outside of merch) is held by......

Kinda funny watching people bash someone's opinion when they complain about that happening elsewhere.

Another step down the toilet tubes for BGW

So I honestly feel like the park may not fail as badly as others predicted, that is as much as I am going to say. BUT I do not expect a perfect retheme either. Bye! *Runs out of thread for dear life*

Everybody has an opinion. I have mine, y'all have yours. That is why it is "opinion". We should be debating the park direction, not our forum comrades' views. We are in this together.

I wish this were true. I will continue to lurk and give thanks where I will, but I am done posting for a while. Feel free to PM me stuff, I just feel that openly posting is causing a gang mentality.
