sounds interesting. Have to see it to see what they do. My wife and I have had full pass for years. Mine until the other year was Dale JR if that tells you anything. Been hearing lots of negative things this year so not sure if we will keep it after next season. the 4 hour drive from NC. We haven't been able to make it up there this season planning on a trip in OCT hopefully

This makes sense, nobody new is going to come for just a new show... But a new show /and/ a new paint jobs that might give epileptics seizures, it will bring in tons of people. It's brilliant.

Seriously, I feel bad for liking Blood Banquet right now.

Why did this have to be the first thing I saw when I woke up? I'm irrationally upset that I won't be able to get any last real pictures before it's gone because of HOS. These people are doing nothing but crapping all over the history of this park and bringing down the standards it set. I think I've been plenty willing to accept changes and give credit where it's due, but enough is enough. A walk through Banbury Cross in the morning was always so pleasant with its classical music and laid-back design... now I'll get blaring noise and psychedelic cheese from step one. I guess "The Olde Country" is truly dead.

So from what I've figured out, I may need to make a cross-park analogy for this to make sense.

Scott = Paramount

To be honest, this may be worse. Paramount may have put car-themed rides in an African-themed section of Kings Dominion to tie in with their movies, but Scott thinks its okay to completely retheme the beloved Elizabethan-era England hamlet as the entrance to the park into a horrible Austin Powers movie! Why on earth would doing this bring in more people? Why go against something that has been proven perfect for over 35 years?! Surely this will ruin their chances of "world's most beautiful theme park" by a lot more. Surely they will understand when Kings Dominion slowly creeps up to them in quality. This is absurd!

I'm crossing my fingers that this is just a mid-September April Fool's joke..! :p

Change is never good, that's why I still carry my pager and I am typing this on a commodore 64. Anyone want to come over and play Atari 3600? I have a whole stack of beta maxes we can watch. Oh, and I have Breakfast Club on laserdisk. CK, did you borrow my skinny tie and my aqua net? Sweep the leg, Johnny.

I am by no means a doom and gloomer, however this has me legitimately concerned. For context this is the only thing I have ever said that about.

The main thing I'm clinging to is the fact that the majority of shopping in BB was just redone, therefore I highly doubt that the shops will get an overlay. Also, what are the chances that this renovation is a two year event for the debut and then after the newness wears off they do an Aquitaine-esque renovation for posterity? I guy can dream. I haven't lost all hope, however I'm expecting psychedelic flowers everywhere. Like every corner.

All this aside, that press release actually has me a bit excited for the show, and shows have never done much for me. If they really use technology right it could be a hit. I'm expecting a "Love" knockoff, which I have no reservations about.

I wished I had seen this today instead of last night. I could hardly get to sleep and didn't sleep well past that.

No one at the park is listening and doesn't care what he does. The park certainly doesn't care about what WE think and want as their customer.

In another spectacular feat of customer service, I just got my renewal notice in the mail yesterday (the one advertising BG Live, Pass Member ride night Aug 23, Pass Member Weekend, and HOS staring Sept 13 - more than a little late) and will scan it to make fun of it here.

Then, I'm burning it.

I generally don't dislike people. But, this is him or me. Looks like it's me. I just can't say what I feel about this, or him, since it would violate SO many forum rules.

They allow this, I'm done. Not just a sabbatical to protest his employment. Just done.

So will this be a full fledged retheme like Hastings to Killarney or will this just be a refresh a la Aquitaine?

We're talking Aquitaine-style but the current plans call for it to be much more... complete than Aquitaine was. Also, instead of bringing in sophistication and class, they're bringing in British Invation-era London.

You're not the only one, but I'm quoting this post because it was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Seriously, these comments are getting terribly annoying. They add nothing to the conversation and only serve as subtle jabs at anyone who disagrees with your point of view. If you can defend the park's plans, quit hiding behind crap like this and do so. If not, maybe it's time to realize they could be wrong.

Can I add this is horrifying might as well make it rainy and dreary there too. Watch out for the Austin Powers look people she a coming, ohh my bad thats miss Scott a coming. New merchandise KEEP CALM AND DESTROY ALL.

Outside, the village will be decked out with new life and energy that embraces the roots of rock-n-roll with feelings of love, hope and freedom.

Because, nothing says Busch Gardens like rock-n-roll and hippies!
I am not a fan of this type of 60's stuff. I dislike this even more.

EDIT: And you know this is only to promote Scott's London Rocks! show. What a disaster. Is he fired yet?

But they also could be right. You guys spend so much time on what could be than what is. It's like one of those movies that look terrible in the previews, then becomes a huge hit on DVD, all because some critic said, "don't go see it". Look at it from the parks point of view, you have this area that no one thinks about except the people on the forum. it is a meeting place for groups to go eat, and an entrance and exit. They want people to pay attention and notice the area, instead, most "GP" spend that walk through looking at their maps to go to the "fun" stuff. As much as it is hated here, BGW is now a full fledged business, and business has been bad, long before the "terrible changes". In order to run a business, you have to stay fresh and give people something new to be excited about. Does it always work, no(see Crystal Pepsi), but that is no reason to not even give it a chance. It is a very selfish attitude to think that we are the only customers and that our opinions should be the only ones the park hears. Many of you pass judgement before you see the finished product. Look at Blood Banquet, look back at your posts about Vlad. Many of you who now praise it, hated the idea. I am not jabbing your opinions, I am jabbing the doom and gloom of something that has not happened yet. You talk about my annoying posts that bring nothing to the conversation, yet you allow your friends to blatantly tell people they are wrong for having their opinions, and belittle them. I don't like posting stuff like this, I choose to be more lighthearted about my opinions and have fun. Life is too short, and there are way more important things going on in the world. So, why do I post here? I enjoy the park, it is my getaway. I like to think of myself as a progressive person, and I am not afraid of change. I think people, including myself, will enjoy the change, and I think it will breath life into a rather boring section of the park. Most people don't get excited walking into browns, greys and tans, they want color and excitment, which is why you see most people rush through to get to the "fun" parts. If I come off as telling people their opinions are wrong, then I apologize, because that is never my intent, it is more me ripping on the situation. Whenever I give my reviews on something after I have seen it, those are genuine. Just like the blog I sent in that never got posted, probably because I enjoyed Illuminights. I was sending it in to help out after you said you were "done". As a business, in my honest opinion, with what they have to work with right now, the park has done more right than wrong.
