Backlot Stunt Coaster

At the park today, I don’t see a ton going on at Backlot. I’m not sure if that’s a sign it’s just Backlot for 2023 or the project hasn’t started yet but just noting there doesn’t appear to be much going on with it as of today. Perhaps they’re saving the retheme for when the eagle/cat temple is discovered

Is ANYTHING going on at the site?

My theory is that Backlot becomes the cat temple, Volcano replacement will be bird temple, and FOF/I305 corner becomes the Lost World National Park, theming FOF as a base researching the oddities of the area, and I305, because it's SO iconic, as...a Dale Earnhardt temple?? In the Lost World, anything is possible, but I digress. As the cat temple would give visitors the ability to run faster and do crazy jumps, the Whey Foundation decides to have them drive their safari jeeps around there to amplify the experience. This would not have the "stunt" elements of the ride like the upward helix and overbanked turn represent cats using their agility, but the experience could pay respect to a long lost KD classic - the Lion Country Safari.

I imagine not much is going on on rides other than Grizzly, other than regular maintenance. They are all-in on the Grizzly revamp it appears. That's what they've been talking about.

Is this a new change for the white train? It looks like the side panel can easily be removed, I assume to make it easier for accessible boarding. The other train did not have this modification, and the third train is not on the track yet.

It has always had that feature. Yes it is only on the white train and the purpose is for accessible boarding.

Yes the front row of the last cars have side panels that flap down allowing a disabled rider to easily slide into the seat from their wheelchair.

Odd question, but does anyone else grey out on this coaster? I never do on i305, but regularly do at the top of the helix.

Almost every time I ride. Sometimes worse than on I305.

It's not an odd question as this happens to a lot of people. I've never had it happen personally but a lot of friends I've ridden with greyed out on that helix.

While technically a family thrill coaster, I think it's more pitched to be a small ride with a big punch that guests of most age groups can ride.

To be fair, the ride seems plenty popular to me?

I think most family coasters just aim too low.

Anyone know when the last time all the effects actually worked on our Backlot? I think for years now the only things that have worked have been the helicopter shooting sounds and fire.

Onboard audio, splashdown, police sirens, water cannons, helicopter blades/movement, lights where the helicopter shoots, tunnel steam, etc. I haven't ever gotten to see any of those things, have any of them worked in at least 10 years?

I remember in 2018 Backlot got a huge refresh and they had pretty much everything running. First time I'm hearing about onboard audio, though.
