wow, the Daily Press is lame...

Denmark, Holland, Norway? Now I don't want to sound like an ignorant American or anything but those themes feel pretty damn similar. Spain or Greece seem to have the most up side. I definately think there will be a new project where the wolf was, as well as the tower.

I just hope they don't have the same designers paint Oktoberfest that screwed up Ireland.

(keeping it G rated ~Fur Dozy)

I wouldn't mind Norway. They could do some cool things with Norse history. And not to mention evil vikings for HoS. I don't expect it in any way, but it would be cool to see in the park's future.

I would take Spain > all. I have been to a very well put together Norway area in a certain park too many times and would do nothing but compare everytime I see it.

Think I may have stumbled across a possible name for the new slide at Water Country.

Well, I wrote to the Daily Press and got a response. The writer is going to speak to the online editor to try to get Greece added. :)

Too much theming can be bad. Think of it like Avatar. The hype built the movie up to something it wasn't and it disappointed me for not being more than what it was, just another okay movie. In this case, too much hype or theming can build a ride up to what it isn't and it may seem nothing more than just another ride. Look at Europe in the Air. The hype built it up to be ten times better than Corkscrew Hill, and it turned out it is just as okay as Corkscrew Hill, if not worse, or maybe a little better. My point is, things may seem just awesome from a look, but you can never judge a book by its cover or a ride by its theming. Would you really want an extravagant themed ride that actually turned out to be a terrible ride, no, it would be a waste. That is what I mean.

I think that if there was a new country we would most likely see a more famous and unique country before we see any lesser popular ones. Such as we will probably see Spain or Greece before we see Norway, Poland, Austria, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, and so forth. However, Switzerland is most popular enough to be considered. So my top picks is Spain, Greece, or Switzerland.

You beat me to it Shafor.

It's like Thirteen. Moderately ok coaster but it was hyped up like it was going to be the next [INSERT YOUR FAVORITE COASTER HERE]. Hype helps the park, but does nothing for the ride itself.

Promotions and theming, is my point. Weather it is both or separate. I didn't mean to lead you on and say Europe in the Air has great theming because it doesn't, but it did have a big promotion that ended making a lot of people upset because they felt the ride didn't live up to their expectations because of promotions. But my point is, the ride doesn't just make itself. Promotions and theming make a ride too and you need to have a balance of all three. Even if the ride is super awesome, and the theming is great, promotions needs to be great too then.

There's a new post in the BGW blog asking people to send in their best guesses for what's coming to win 2 tickets for next season.

I see what you are saying now; however, I don't see how the conclusion was come to that you can over-theme a ride.

The aricle said to be very specific. Obvioulsy this isnt just going to be a drop tower. I think it will be one with swings.

Vanish Point could also be the name of the drop tower (if it'll still be one) seeing as how it doesn't specifically state which park it'll go into. This sounds like a great name for both a drop tower and a water slide.

However, if they are actually building another country with a kidsiderate attraction, I would looooooooove to see the Wild Mouse come back. Wild Mouse rides are one of my favorites and it wouldn't cost too much if you think about it. But if one of those countries were to be built, I would prefer to see Spain or Denmark. They could be well themed and include the Wild Mouse...i really want a wild Mouse (even though I know it's probably unlikely) =(

Wild Maus themed to the running of the bulls would be cool

Vanish Point doesn't sound like the name of something that would go into BGW. They're usually so good about tying the ride names into the theme/country.

Yeah, I'm just saying that it COULD be. I know BGW theme-names their rides but outside of BGW it could be the name of a drop tower... It also could be depending on if it's in the new country or not and what country it would be.

I think a stand up coaster (a smoth one kind of like Chang) would be a cool running with the bulls theme.
