looking at tampa, i wouldn't expect anything about a coaster til' the close of next year. As to the blueprints(that are white), if you don't want to past the link, could you at least print screen so that we get a hi res image, that would be great, thanks.

and zoomy, make sure you protect posts like that. The last thing you want is to have someone take that image and claim it, only to say that you never said they couldn't. (if you need help look at swift and Chris's signatures.
 
A watermark over the image might help as well.

Anyway, Behind the Thrills @replied me on Twitter today and told me that the normal height for Aqua-Loops is 100 ft. Zoomy posted that the highest point of the ride is 135 feet above sea-level does anyone know how high the land is around the ride? If it is about 35 ft. above sea-level we could assume that we do, in fact, have a 100+ ft. ride coming to Water Country in 2011.
 
i agree that they wont be announcing the rollercoaster yet, cause if they do and they dont start building it for a year or two, then competitors will have a chance to make something bettter..
 
They could tease us though. like a new country with an exciting thrill ride. And not actually announce what it is.
 
i believe they should just say that there will be a new country, give all the details on that, and like you said, tease us 'bout a new thrilling rollercoaster, but give no specs away, just hints...
 
^thats a very good point. that would seem very business savvy in doing something like that because while you technically reveal something is coming you begin generating that buzz that would stick around for an entire year

They sure have added a lot of signs. This seems very interesting and a lot of nice pictures. I know I got some really nice pictures when HoS construction first began, and some pictures of the shops. Of course you couldn't see much but if you were with me that day you could see from the train, employees hanging and ripping the red fabric for Bitten. I really enjoy your pictures. A key piece of the banner is that it talks about a NEW OKTOBERFEST. Sounds like Oktoberfest may be getting a very large expansion and makeover. Wouldn't be surprised if the Festhaus gets a major renovation as they are talking about one of the iconic parts of Busch Gardens and the Festhaus is featured prominently in some of the signs.
 
well we already knew from the permits that the whole oktoberfest rides area is going to see a renovation
 
If this is true, I have a feeling that the huge Busch logo might be on it's way out. :( Speaking of which, Chris, do you mind taking a few nice HQ pictures of that window next time you bring along the big camera?
 
There has been a rumor sometime ago about the Festhaus getting a renovation to be bigger and hold more people. It was unbelievable earlier since it didn't seem likely, but now I think it is likely. The rumor said it was to be built bigger to hold twice of what it can already. I do think either Oktoberfest is going to seem big renovations, a new country added where Big Bad Wolf is, or both even. They said it is billion dollar project, I forgot where I saw this, but I did see it. And they said some of the most iconic things, not just one, so maybe other than Festhaus being renovated something else could change. It seems like they are going country by country. I mean Ireland had its renovation and re-make this year and now its Germany, more specific Oktoberfest.
 
Took the family up to BG today, well I guess that would be Saturday now that is well past midnight and wanted to post, But I see that Chris has done a fine job of posting some pics that are better than what I had taken with my phone. Can't wait to see what they do! Also I hope that they don't do too much to the Festhaus, as the murals and paintings in there are wonderful, I agree that they may indeed get rid of the AB eagle, but I hope they don't go fiddling with it too much.
 
I seriously doubt anything would be done to the interior or exterior of the Festhaus except repainting the steps back to the original color after Illuminights. Do you know that the same AC unit is still being used from when it was built?? I kid you not.

That thing is like the energizer bunny and it is still the coldest retreat in the park on a hot day!

But, just in case... here is a memento (especially for you OldTimer and all those who love Hastings).

Nora, when was that taken? I'm almost positive that those railings blocking the bottom of the window aren't there any more....

If this is a billion dollar rennovation it has to include a new country. Considerig that dark castle only cost 31 million and that was the most expensive ride in the park they would have to do a ton of work to get the price that high. I dont imagine the drop tower is more than maybe 15 million.If you are correct then a new country is guarnteed.
