I could see the trying to salvage parts and sell the rest for scrap. I wouldn’t even want to imagine how much it would cost to disassemble, repair, and reassemble it, and there is no way it would be worth it for anyone.

So Wicked Twister and Possessed will operate for another 15 years... Got it.

PS: Kings Dominion Fanatics is the same FB page that claims Kings Dominion building a launched B&M wing coaster for 2020. I don't think anyone in their right mind thinks that's an actual possibility.

The park looks so much less boxed in on the map then it is reality.

Flowers have been laid at the former entrance of Volcano the Blast Coaster today.

I honestly don't see what the fuss is about with the tributes. Some people grew up with this ride. It's their childhood. Big Bad Wolf was my first coaster and I was extremely upset when BGW took it down. It felt like a part of my childhood dying. They're not doing any harm to anyone else. Just let people remorse and pay tribute to the ride how they want.

Personally, I've never really cared much for KD so I'm not really up on all their attractions. But, in reading, all I really recall mentioned as being "the coasters to ride" is Rebel Yell, Intimidator 305 and (maybe) Dominator. The only time I recall Volcano mentioned (before it closed) was "it's broke down again". So, I kind of equate the "tributes" in the same light as finally trading in that used car that got you through high school and college. Lot of great memories but it really was a POS.
