If it's really for sale, whether that happens affects how it's dismantled.

I think there was a tendency to go pessimistic when this was first announced and presume the end of a coaster there, or the mountain. Since then I've noticed some of the better themed coasters could give plenty of reason for envy on the part of someone at the park or CF, so just maybe they think they can do better. Surely they were thinking seriously about that before we were, as skeptical as we should be they will act on it.

Maybe people have a greater attachment to the mountain/volcano than the ride itself? In that case it's not even that critical what they actually do with it, just that the ride CAN be replaced. At the same time, looking pretty and attention to detail with the theming couldn't have been the "formula" of the ride's success, because it wasn't. It wasn't that the theming was the best, but that it was very high thrill for being themed at all, at the needed scale. Also, a simple concept.

Hey hi, I don't have the patience to link it on mobile but KD Fanatics is now saying that Volcano demolition is starting today.

There hasn't been a permit filed for demolition to my knowledge so if anyone is at the park this weekend please check in.

Wasn't there last weekend, but I heard a lot of rides were breaking down, and Anaconda was the only one that didn't experience much downtime. It's one of their most reliable rides.

Welp, if the mountain is coming down as well as the coaster, it is going to look weird without anything in that area. First time that nothing has been on that spot since 1977. KD had the ground breaking for "The Lost World" mountain ride complex in June of that year when the land grading started.

Heartbreaking (but not shocking) to hear that the mountain is coming down. The character of that entire corner of the park, even the park’s entire skyline, is about to be drastically different from anything we’ve seen. The end of a four-decade icon.

Wow, according to that permit, they're gonna Wack the Volcano.

Total conjecture on my part, but if this was such a last minute decision as others have stated, you almost are lead to believe that something structural was found to be seriously deficient and an immediate safety concern. Which may be why they're moving fast on the demo. Again, just conjecture but I recall something similar with a building years ago.
