No but really their actual name is Wack. They do contracting work all over Central and Southern Virginia.

Looking at the permit, are people confident that they are taking down the mountain?

It seems to me that “VOLCANO” could refer to the ride or the mountain.

It says demolish. You can’t demolish the coaster without the mountain.

You literally can’t knock down the coaster portion while keeping the mountain intact. The ride is designed to use the mountain.

At least now the talk of bringing back haunted river or putting a triotech in there can finally die.

The mountain predates the ride. The previous attractions, which were built with the mountain, were removed, while leaving it intact. If they can dismantle rides that the mountain was designed to house without destroying it, I imagine they can also leave it standing after removing the coaster.

I’m not saying they won’t destroy both; I’m saying that permit is too ambiguous to allow any definitive judgements.

"Volcano" refers to the entire thing at this point.

Kings Dominion Fanatics also says it's the entire thing going (which I'm happy about tbh).

Based on the proximity of other attractions - namely Avalanche - I don't think they'll simply be "knocking down" this structure one way or another. There's gotta be some additional level of control to it, compared to other projects.

Also, even though there's still a good chance the mountain is gonna die, keep in mind the coaster was constructed in and around the existing mountain. In theory, it could be deconstructed that way too.

Proof? Again, you may be right - but it seems KD Fanatics is basing their info on this permit, which is pretty ambiguous about what it's actually referring to.

If it's gonna be by June then it's not gonna be merely the track dismantled. That is an extremely long and tedious process due to the way Volcano was built, if you want to avoid structural damage.

It's far cheaper and more feasible to can the entire thing vs trying desperately to salvage a 40 year old structure.

The fact that the mountain was modified in the first place to accommodate the coaster and that the structure itself houses supports.

Just put a cocoon over Avalanche FoF and I305 and blow Safari Village to bits. Start over with a Virginia themed area.
