You know, I'd be 100% on board with reviving the whole Lost World Mountain concept (with a new mountain of course since the old one was practically falling apart). Some sort of indoor flat ride, a dark ride and a coaster to appease all the Volcano fanboys. It would be a perfect fit and a proper replacement for Volcano.

I sense a disturbance in this thread I haven't felt since this forum used to party rock.

All.

Night.

Long.

I do not think we truly appreciated rocking the party while we had it!

Hot damn, this forum does not disappoint!!!

If I could light up a cigarette right now, I would.

Indeed! Almost makes me want to fall off the wagon. (again...)

I am seeing the return of the same illogical logic of "If a coaster goes, a replacement coaster is going back on that spot!" My question is; "How is Delirium the coaster working for you?" I have not seen any reviews of it and how it compares with other coasters.

Also, the Wack contractor company has done quite a bit of work for KD under Cedar Fair. They were involved in constructing Dominator, Delirium, and Planet Snoopy. Also, built KD's employee dormitory building, the cabins for the campground, and built the two Haunt buildings at the western end of CAG. Seems they have a pretty good working relationship with KD/Cedar Fair.

Delirium is really mediocre. That plot of land looks boring with it and the ride itself is meh.

Looking at the permit, are people confident that they are taking down the mountain?

It seems to me that “VOLCANO” could refer to the ride or the mountain.

This was my first thought as well. It was called a mountain rather than a volcano when it was first built, so we can't assume it would be called volcano now. There must be some more detailed documents that accompany the permit to detail the size and scope of what is being demo'ed since the screen shot is so vague.

When asked how they know it is the whole mountain and not just the coaster, KD Fanatics said they have on the ground sources. Those sources may or may not be accurate, but at least KD Fanatics is basing their assessment on more than just what is in that screen shot.

I think everything has a silver lining. Is it sad we're losing Volcano? Sure. It was an iconic ride and was loved by many. But... assuming that the Mountain is coming down aswell (Which I believe is happening) that opens up a huge new plot of land that could house a new coaster, that could be better and open more often.

Just my two cents. Can't wait to have a ton of angry responses to this lol

I am fully accounting for that when I state that it's barely large enough for Dominator.

KBF Hangtime has the equivalent area occupation of a Vekoma Boomerang, it'd easily occupy only about 20% of the land made available.

I think it's a decent amount of land. Something better than Volcano will HAVE to take it's place, hopefully Cedar Fair knows this.

MapFrappe is currently down due to "google maps changes" but you could literally fit Hangtime in lengthwise North to South and still have enough room for a flat ride between it and Flight of Fear.

Whereas with Dominator and taking liberties in contorting the layout it occupies most if not all of the usable footprint area even if you do an annex are for double corks like what Bizarro has.

In terms of cost investment I'm expecting something on the scale of Hangtime, nothing much higher than that.

Could anything realistically go over Avalanche? That would open up more possibilities.
