Instead of rehashing why Verbolten's indoor section will never be significantly sped up, I want to go a different direction.

Is there an authoritative source for Verbolten's speed stats? The announcement fact sheet claimed a "maximum speed" of 53mph, but doesn't state where during the ride that theorized top speed was supposed to take place (end of launch 2 or bottom of the Rhine drop). I also can't find anything about the speed of launch 1 other than an entirely uncited claim on a coaster thoosie wiki.

I've found releases from the park claiming up to 60mph on the second launch so that's gonna be the top speed. 88ft isn't enough for 50mph even in perfect free fall conditions.

IDK on the first launch but I cant see any sources for it so far. I've seen 45mph which seems close.

Thanks @Brambo . Checking out the resulting plots on the subreddit, I have to say I’m impressed with the features they seem to be reliably picking up.

This is, in my view, the first and only killer app for the Apple watch.

I enjoy turning on my heartrate and blood oxygen saturation tracking while riding roller coasters. Interestingly (but maybe not surprisingly), the highest I've ever had was 140 on Grizzly at night.

Of course... that could just be the Boardwalk Fries...

88ft refers to the Rhine drop. if you jumped off the top of that 88ft in a vacuum with no friction you still wouldn't hit 53mph. So it's easy to determine that the top speed is not there. You're correct on the height of the drop track.

Could we get Guinness to do it?

I believe Guinness would require official surveyor or timekeeper records to be submitted depending on which stat one is claiming, collected according to their hardware and procedure guidelines, as well as additional witness testimonials.

…At which point each measured ride would have these verified stats available and therefore wouldn’t need Guinness.

I don’t believe Guinness sends someone physically to verify all claims, unless an attempt or claim doesn’t lend itself to standard measurement or validation techniques.

Same as last week, and unfortunately since accessibility shares the same entrance no one to assist with that (maybe even an ADA violation for some guests).

I was at the park yesterday and stayed till close. I rode Verbolten twice. But this just adds to the number of times I've ridden it. To start off, I will say that this ride still Performa well on the colder temperatures. It actually felt like the first launch had a little more pull, whether you chose to sit in the middle or the back. Not sure if that has more to do with the LSM's adjusting to colder temperatures; but it was cool.

As for the special effects, they are having the same problem. 90 percent of the time, the computer is only going to queue to STORM theme. This has been going on since the end of the summer. For those who said it has to do with the color train; that's false. Is it possible that the STORM and SPIRIT theme are overlapping. Cause you'll generally here the bass from the under after the first launch, after you dip down into the event building. Then it will sometimes give you the storm theme before it decides it wants to queue the SPIRIT LADY for the vertical drop.

It's time for Bush Gardens to give this ride some refurbishment. As discussed in earlier pages; there needs to be more if a tribute to the Werewolf theme, with the ride replacing Big Bad Wolf. I'd actually enjoy some spooky music waiting in line during the evening hours.

Far fewer attractions are open—they can allocate more staff per open ride today.

Also, I have some general knowledge inquiry about Verbolten? When the ride operator starts the ride up at the beginning of the day, does that automatically activate the special SFX in the event building? Or is it something that has to be turned on sedately each day? Or are the effects just looped in with every train that enters? So basically, Ed the technician could walk on the track, trip a sensor and the special SFX start up?

Building on this, what reqs are there for the car headlights to be on. I rode this summer in the evening and they were on, yet I haven’t seen them since.
