I could see Verbolten being closed for Christmas Town this year depending on how far along construction is.

Not "officially" related to Verbolten... but did Zierer build the drops in Rise at WDW / DL? Heard that might be the case? Any articles / proof out there?

Does anyone know why the pitch of the sound has gotten deeper over the years or is that just my ears.

Disney likes to design and build their own rides, using their in-house contractor Buena Vista Construction Co. and Walt Disney Imagineering. They seem to very rarely if at all use an outside manufacturer.

Disney contracts outside quite the bit for projects in the park. Off the top of my head Vekoma worked on Expedition Everest, 7DMT, and RnR and that's just one company outside of Imagineering.

Typically imagineering designs the ride and effects. Then they will find manufacturers for certain elements. A good example is 7 dwarves mine train. The trains and track are built by vekoma to the designs of the imagineers. Tron is another example. The track and trains are built by vekoma.

Sometimes Disney even outsources the making of their animatronics, as told in this video

Given all the downtime, I was thinking of a really cool way to revamp the show building. And I know this is really "pie in the sky" as it would take some expense.

So in the entrance tunnel, it stays the same, but as you come through into the building, the small straight away would become inclosed with some effects to be tree like. At the middle of the fist 270 turn, a large tree built floor to ceiling, branches over the entire area. Branches coming all around to the track that makes is look like the tree itself is supporting the track.

As you exit the turn, just a black wall with and opening just big enough for the train envelope to separate the helix. At the middle of the helix a rock pile with about 4-6 wolves. One up on top in a howling pose. As you go around the helix, there's a howl and walls that curve and enclose the helix, with more and more wolf eyes that light up, along with puffs of smoke to simulate the cold breath of wolves.

Another black wall with a hole, this time up onto the MCBR, that's painted very bright blue. Simulating the hope of an opening. As the train goes to continue on, the lights in this space flicker as the 'spirit voice' gives an ominous warning to say out. The dip turn around gets inclosed with bright neon lit trees (in a homage to the original show building design, carrying you into the drop track. In the drop track the spirit face becomes a little more creepy, and take a projector or two from DK, and project onto the walls a look of many spirits coming to get you, where right before the drop a safe and reassuring voice tells you not to worry, you are safe.

Ok, boredom is a powerful thing.

In the past few years I have heard multiple times from many different people including tour guides that vbolts track is deteriorating insanley fast to where something big needs to be done in the next few years. Not a good thing at all especially cause I love the ride.

Deteriorating because of normal wear and tear, or because the forces it receives weren't all accounted for by Zieier when they tried to make an Intamin kind of ride that's a bit out of their wheelhouse?

If it's the second option, curious if they can get Intamin to do the rehab since there's now a relationship.

The curse of the Big Bad Wolf - each ride has unique elements, both have major track issues, both occupy the same space.

Let's hope 2021 doesn't have a similar fate as DF...
