To me, it's just a little vibration that goes on the whole ride. I also get a little grey out on the helix, but not as much as on i305.

There's a long line of rides that should get removed before this ride.

Wow I'll probably get run off the forums for saying this but I would get rid of LNM and Alpen before Verbolten. To be perfectly honest, if you don't have the emotional bond to LNM like most of you guys do, it's nothing speacial. To me it's just an old ride that's bumpy, slow, and doesn't make me lose my stomach. On the other hand, most of you hate Griffon, but it was one of the first big coasters I was tall enough to go on, I used to wear 3 pairs of socks to get on. I recognize that Griffon isn't the best ride, and most of you think it's kind of boring, but it will always be my favorite ride in the park because of my attachment to it. I also have an attachment to Verbolten because it was the first ride I witnessed going from first rumors, to design plans, to getting to ride it (all thanks to BGWfans). I think that the emotional attachment you have to a ride is often more important than the ride itself.

I would get rid of Alpengiest and Loch Ness Monster (in that order) before Verbolten. Honestly I am so confused. There was tons of praise for Verbolten back when the plans came out and construction was going on. It seems like the tides have changed in just a year or two.

I am not saying you guys don't like the ride, but back when the plans were leaked and the ride was getting to being built it seemed as though everyone was declaring great praise for this ride as if it was the best of the best. Even when it first opened, it was mocked for frequent downtime, but that was overlooked as it was determined that was normal because they had to record every issue and the different ways of trying to fix the issue.

Plans are always exciting, it's the ride experience that completes the final judgment, and my ride experience was very poor, so I don't like it, it's just my opinion. If you don't mind me asking, have you ridden Verbolten, Alpengeist, and LNM before?

Yes, plans are exciting, even construction is exciting. However, people still praised the ride as simply amazing and totally awesome and just as great as they thought it would be. I didn't reject your experience, and I never said you did like it. Please don't turn this into a personal issue. You can have that opinion. I am not saying that is wrong.

Just like you have your opinion based on your experience, I have my opinion based on a variety of other factors. While, I have not gone on any ride, why does that make my opinion invalid? An opinion is just that an opinion and every opinion is valid.

The reason why I choose those coasters to replace in that order was not based on my emotional attachment, nor based on my opinion of if any of them are good or bad. I choose those coasters because Verbolten is the most recent and has one of the longer operating lives. Apollo's Chariot, Griffon, and Loch Ness Monster all are more iconic in my opinion than Alpengiest, making that the more ideal ride to remove next. I choose Loch Ness Monster next because it is old and will probably need replacing in the order.

I'm not saying your opinion is invalid, I respect it, but I choose to ignore it. I choose to overlook your opinion, because it's not built upon the grounds that I want this opinion to be built on. It's just hard to take someone seriously, when they haven't really experienced it.

If I were in control of things, I'd take out that gigantic blue eyesore that's Griffon and Loch Ness before touching Verbolten. That's just me.

I don't really see how this whole blackout thing is a bad thing. The ride has very sharp turns that are taken at a high speed. You're gonna be pinned to your seat and experience high G forces. I've blacked out on Alpengeist and Big Bad Wolf before. That doesn't make them bad rides.

As for the roughness, it's more of a rattle than anything. It's no rougher than Apollo (and that was developing a pretty significant rattle as of last year too). Either rattle doesn't really ruin the ride for me. The rattle itself has always been around, but it gets worse as the wheels wear themselves down throughout the season.

I feel it's still a fantastic ride that never seems to get old, even after 160+ rides on it.

Is it me, or is the reasoning to give up Alpie first, totally crazy.

As much as I love AC, and Griffon, I believe the both pale in comparison to Alpie's uniqueness, and how it is iconic. The theming of AC and Griffon, aren't anywhere near the amount of theming Alpengeist has. I think that Alpengeist, is a lot more beautiful, and appealing in terms of beauty, and things like that.

As far as I'm concerned, saying you want to get rid of Nessie is an act of terrorism and you should rot in federal prison.

Those people need to be put on death row.

It is also the tallest invert in the world. Why get rid of a record holding roller coaster for any reason? Don't trash it...FIX IT!

Just like Matthew said he doesn't want to get rid of it, but if he had to he would, that is the position I am in.

You guys realize that B&M inverts are practically indestructable right? I mean Six Flags Fiesta Texas has Goliath which literally survived Hurricane Katrina. There's a reason why 100% of B&Ms are still operating around the world.

Alpengeist is way more iconic than Apollo's Chariot and Griffon and slightly more than Nessie.

Alpengeist gave the park more notoriety and fame than any previous or future installation. The press ate it up and as the park had never seen such a massive attendance boost from a major installation as that. The ride was featured in major media print like People Magazine and was practically on every roller coaster show produced for TV at that time. No other coaster in the history of the park received as much attention as Alpengeist.

I have a much different idea of what I consider to be iconic. I don't consider that iconic. I consider that to be notable attention. Iconic to me is more about the look of the ride. For example, LNM's loops are iconic. Iconic to me refers to any part of the ride that is used as an icon, such as Nessie's interlocking loops.

Not seeing anything about Verbolten being/ not being iconic. I'm sure a thread can be made in the everything else section to continue this conversation.

I'm not going to say you're wrong because it's all a matter of opinion but... I couldn't disagree more. Apollo has developed a slight rattle in the areas with extreme positive Gs but Verbolten is like riding a jackhammer through half of its course. Honestly I've ridden woodies I'd consider smoother than Verbolten...
