Removing the drop track would be one of the hardest challenges to face. The drop track simply can't be removed with the building in place. The entire roof would have to be removed along with the theming elements. Don't forget the footers. If they replaced it with a regular incline drop, you will be spending countless hours with a jack hammer breaking up the concrete which could really damage the entire floor. I don't see the drop track being removed ever to be honest. It's a huge expense and removing it can just cause more money and harm.

Anyways, I noticed on the final brake run that there are theater LED lights that shine on the props above. I'm sure the wolf eyes are actual LED's themselves, so really replacing the lights on the final brakes should be super easy.

A question, why is Verbolten so rough? Thanks. :)

In my opinion, I find it rough in the "s" turn to the building, a couple times in the building, and going to the brakes at the end. I dont find it super rough, but there are some spots.

I find the themeing of the ride to be spot on. The queue house looks amazing (except for the missing poster with gerta and carvings on the suitcases), and I find the elements inside the building to be AMAZING!!! However, the warehouse is ugly!! I really am not paying too much attention to the wolf's eyes because 1) I rarely EVER get wolf, and 2) I am too scared at the build up of the freefall. (The freefall gets me everytime!!) Yes, there are things that need to be fixed, but overall, it is great. :)

What is the finial consensus about the ride being rough exactly?

Some people are saying the ride is rough, others saying it is smooth. Does it switch back and forth? Or is it more of a personal opinion thing, making the ride on the border of being rough/smooth?

The vibrations bother me enough to skip the ride periodically. It will give me a headache on certain days. I have only ridden the front CK. I'll try the back before commenting on the amplification/decrease of the vibrations.

The vibration, roughness, sickness and "grey-out" seems to be any seat for us. We usually sit in the left train backseat because the line is usually very short. The GP go for the right train or the first few seats and block the line leaving that back seat a quick load after you squeeze by them. A more than few minutes wait is not worth the front for us. We only do it when the lines are super low. Only a couple of rides and we need to walk it off a bit.

Where do each of you responding to this usually sit?  Maybe it's one of those front - middle - back things; like someone said exclusively sits in the back. ;)

I tend to sit in all areas pretty equally. Usually I'll hit the front early on in the day, ride in the middle when the lines are longer, and hit the back at the end of the day.

Anywho, the back definitely has the greatest rattling/headbanging/bumpy experience, while the front basically whips you around a lot. The middle rattles and whips you around, but doesn't bump around as much. It's amazing how different seats offer such different experiences.

I really don't see Verbolten as a "rough" ride. It has pretty heavy forces that pull you around a lot, but it's not painful for me at all- probably because the lap restraint prevents any headbanging. To be fair, this is coming from someone who rides Rebel Yell 5+ times at KD every time I visit, so my perception of "rough" may be skewed. ;)

Hope this helps clear up some confusion. Hope to see you braving the Black Forest with us sometime soon, CK!

I am glad to see that my wife and I are not the only ones who have the feeling of "greying out" on this ride. I have been a roller coaster rider since I was very young and this is the only coaster that has ever made me grey out. It happens inside the building in the tight helix. So we just don't ride it anymore...

I've never experienced a grey out or black out on any ride before. On Verbolten I experience them basically everytime I go on it. In the helix before the first block inside the show building. It gets to the point where it gives me a headache all day.

The roughness is a whole other thing, I find the back of the car to be okay in those terms, the front is good, but the middle is just awful. But really, no matter what area you ride in, you're going to experience the roughness. The roughness is the worst on the s-turn to the show building, a couple turns inside the show building, and every turn on the final s-turn. I agree that it gets to the point where if the line is anywhere near visible, I skip it.

And truthfully if I had to pick a coaster in the park to get rid of, Verbolten would be my very first choice, no question about it. Just my opinion though.

Haha I always feel accomplished when I see the spinning vortex thing becaue that's usually where I "grey" out. It doesn't leave me with a headache or anything, just temporarily blind haha.

To be 100% honest with you, excluding Grover, I totally agree with this. :-/ Verbolten is, in my opinion, a good ride. The problem is that Busch Gardens is full of great rides and that one good ride cost more than double the price of any of the other major coasters in the park.
