The ride is rough. The forces during the drop track may have something to do with it. When the track drops all of the force is transferred to the smaller wheels at the bottom. There are only two coasrers with the drop track and I think the people building them still are getting the bugs out. Following the old footers don't help either.

Rode a few times last Monday and didn't have a problem with the ride. Me and a friend did the orange train and the red train (both in the back). The usual rattle in the first turn and return run was still there. Red had a more noticeable rattle than it used to, but orange was running the same way its always been.

Actually, there are three: Th13teen, Verbolten, and one made by Zierer that opened a MONTH before Verbolten called Polar X-plorer. It is at Lego Land Billund. Here is a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PbkbScuUhP4. It looks like Verbolten goes Faster and V-bolt's longer, but this one LOOKS smoother.

Launches, if not executed properly, can sometimes cause roughness. That's one of the many reasons why B&M has refused to build a launch coaster for such a long time. However, in Verbolten's case, before you go down the drop, and banked turn at the end of the ride, you come to a good slow down. That slowdown should eliminate any issues caused by the launch itself. Like I stated previously, it has more vertical wiggle room on the track then any of the B&M coasters. On top of that, the banking is very forced, because they wanted to try to re-create the feeling of the end of Big Bad Wolf. The height of the track, at the end is about 10 feet shorter than Big Bad Wolf, because on Big Bad Wolf you were suspended underneath the track. On this ride, you sit on top of the track. I admit I really loved Big Bad Wolf, but I wish they would have chosen to show it in a different light, by making it smoother. However, sometimes when I ride Verbolten, I pretend I'm back on Big Bad Wolf. When I close my eyes, and hold my hands out in front of me like I'm gripping the handlebars on a shoulder harness, it feels like I'm riding it all over again.

We rode Verbolten yesterday, and they were running only 4 trains, yellow, green, blue, and orange; red was in the back. I never realized that one missing train messes up the entire story in the building. We rode it twice, the first ride we got the spirit. We dropped before her green face appeared in front of the car. When we got to the bottom of the drop the face appeared. It was rather scary. :p

That's kind of like what happens on DarKastle, trains are removed and the computer tries to compensate for those trains that are removed. By the time the computers are able to do anything though, that train is usually back on the track. That's the only time that they're wonderful maintenance people set them back somewhat. Surely Verbolten would have faster, more "intelligent" computers than DarKastle though. You also have to realize that the computers are programmed to make that ride a huge capacity machine. That, and safety, usually tends to take priority over most other things with just about any ride.

I have always noticed the spirit face turning green after the drop if you get wolves or storm. It has been that way since it opened.

That makes since. I noticed something similar when I first saw the spirit story. I looked up to see more of the face. If I wanted a ride opt to watch a camera during an important part I would put a light in the view of the camera that is important to the next step.

I was checking my Verbolten Preshow with Subtitles video on Youtube, and somebody commented that "fahrt" means "drive" or "cross," not "travel." I searched it up, and sure enough, they were right, "fahrt" does not in fact actually mean "travel," contrary to what queue signs, T-Shirts and other merchandise, and Gerta herself say. Yowza. What, that's the fifth mistake or so the park has made with facts/signs now? Geez.

Also, signs throughout the queue clearly tell everyone that the tour company Gerta and Gunter run is called "Black Forest Tours and Rentals," but they constantly warn to stay away from the menacing Black Forest. Way to send mixed signals to the tourists, guys!

My 700th post! Oh yeah! That's, what, a seventh of what Zachary has? I can beat that! :D

I was there Saturday and during the afternoon they had 4 trains running with two stations. We had quick queue though because we didn't want to wait for an hour.

Saw and experienced it with me own two eyes, I did. Still don't know why they didn't use the second station as unload and the first for loading, would've helped capacity quite a bit.

With the current programming, that's impossible. Though it would certainly help, it isn't feasible.

So after looking through some threads, like those pertaining to a Demon DJ or a British Invasion coming to Banbury Cross, and everyone says they're okay with change, but the park just goes too far. So I was thinking, and I feel like Verbolten is a really good example of how change should be if that's what the park has to do.

Look, we know the park has been struggling to compete with other parks in its market ever since it didn't have Anhueser-Busch as its daddy, and it couldn't stay afloat by just "promoting beer" anymore. We know the park has faced budget cuts. We know they have to keep going in a new direction to attract customers. Problem is, they don't have a proper balance between finding ways to bring new people in and keeping the people who already come and love the park in. Pop music? No. Beatles in what is now Elizabethan-era England? No. Flashy fairy tales in a traditional German beer hall? No. How about a barely-themed drop tower that never works? Nope. But after I think about, I think Verbolten has actually done a great job of finding that perfect balance between the future and the past for the park.

Now, the next thing I say is going to make people mad--maybe it's a good thing we can't give out negative reps anymore. Anyway, I think Verbolten is a good attraction to take the place of the Big Bad Wolf

So, reading Zach's post about Le Mans got me thinking about the Verbolten cars. Does it annoy anyone besides me that they don't use the traditional international racing colors for all of the trains? For example, why on earth did they pick bathing suit green? What is wrong with BRG?

Sorry if I am being picky, but I always find that jarring for some reason.
