RE: Verbolten
I went yesterday.
I thought it was fab. But it IS vibrating. There is no doubt about it. Vibrating like that is a pet peeve of mine, I think it's headache inducing, but I don't know many people who agree with me. The comments about people being spoiled by B&Ms don't make much sense in this regard... That kind of vibrating is something I associate with B&M! Apollo and Alpengeist do it! No where near as bad, but they do. The worst offender I've ever riden is Hulk, and Nitro a close second.
The reason people are calling it out is because it's a minor fault in a new ride, and that's what enthusiasts do.

Coupled with the fact that it's a manufacturer few people are familiar with.
But honestly, I think Verbolten's rattling is just newness. It feels like new coaster firmness. It's reminiscent of when Saw first opened and was so hard on every tiny jolt. Like a new shoe that's too stiff, it needs ware in a little. Give it a week or two and it'll calm down. It only seems to do it when it's moving slowly, when launching and through the indoors section, I didn't notice it. I was all sad face when it rolled out of the station and was vibrating, but as soon as it launched into the building I was beaming like a little kid.
The indoors section is AWESOME! You loose all sense of space in there. It's disorientating, fast, intense and it's SO dark. They've done a great job with it.
The drop isn't anything worth shouting about. It's not better than Thirteen's, if anything Thirteen's may be slightly better. It certainly seems less dramatic, instant and lowers kinda slowly into place. It also spends a LONG time getting itself set up and seems to take quite a while after, too. Thirteen is very much in, boom, out.
But at least Verbolten entertains you whilst you wait, using the time to present you with a show and build a sense of drama. For anyone unaware of what is about to happen, there must be a true sense of "what the hell is going on and where on earth are we?" And more importantly, different shows for every train??? Well damn. I was confused and then blown away when I realised. That's outstanding level of effort, and what a great way to make an narrative based coaster reridable. Awesome.
And omg they even themed the station floor. I was in awe.
On an unrelated note, I've been hatin' on Griffon but it was way better than I remembered yesterday. Oblivion is still better though.
