RE: Verbolten

I don't know if anyone knows this but the sign up on the Broken Bridge translates to... "Attention! Destroyed Bridge DO NOT WALK!". I guess the Broken Bridge is rather a walking bridge than a road bridge.

So, what happens during the Storm Scene? Anything that seperates it from the other scenes?

Lightning and thunder around you. Surrounding scenes light up with it.

But he WORKS there, of course he gets permission, right?

If you are talking about my friend, he got permission just like anyone else... show up at the ride entrance with the right camera (hands free, screwed in, and securely latched in a case) and ask for an operations manager to approve it

RE: Verbolten

My mother was browsing the gift shop this morning after asking the girl behind the counter if the coaster was going to open today. After walking out, the girl was nice enough to come running out to tell my mother that they just opened up the line. We got in line (which was already full) but didn't actually stop shuffling our feet until Gunter's office. The two train setup is extremely efficient. I kept watching the trains come in; the people in the back row always looked disgruntled while the rest of the train was clapping. Interesting...

Once we were on the ramp up to the station, a nice prerecorded message from Gerta came over the loudspeaker telling us that the ride is experiencing technical difficulties. It took about 45 minutes when she came back over the loudspeaker and told us that the ride would be starting up again. I don't know what the problem was, but I didn't realize that the orange, blue, and red trains were in the station, but the green train showed up late. They must have been stuck on the drop track or rolled back as I watched an attendent make hand gestures to an inquiring guest.

No sooner did they start sending out the empty trains that the ride broke down again. Saw two maintenance men came from the maintenance bay and walk up to the control tower. This wait took an additional 30 minutes.

Talked with a woman in line who showed us her 75 year old father a few rows in front of us. He rode front seat right before us.

Loved the car engine sound while exiting the station. Both launches are very smooth and make that awesome LIM sound. The black forest is stunning and lives up to any of the rumors/details I've read since joining the forum when it was just a big hole in the ground. However, you really need to sit on the left side of the train for a better view. I couldn't see the moonbox on the right side of the train. Overall a wonderful and unique ride, but in my opinion it is an unbelievably rough and jerky ride. Fortunately, it didn't make me dizzy or make my neck hurt, it just made the ride uncomfortable.

RE: Verbolten

I am going Saturday the 19 of may right when the park opens! Can not wait and Which scenario is the best? Wolf,Storm,Spirt?

RE: Verbolten

it seems like every reviewer said the ride is awesome but alot of people are saying it's very rough and jerky, while others say its smooth. my girlfriend can't ride jerky rides, she has a bad back and neck, so can someone clarify how bumpy it is? she is ok with most rides, with the exception of old wooden coasters or something like the american scream machine in six flags. is it the level of like american scream machine in six flags? she injured her neck in her ride. i am really doubting its THAT bad considering how new it is, but i am surprised how many people saying how "rough" this ride is. rough seems like a harsh word for a family ride, so if someone can compare this to space mountain in disney world, that would be helpful. thanks.

RE: Verbolten

Rough is the right word to describe it for a brand new steel coaster. It just seems like it should be much much smoother. You can really feel it on the straight section just after leaving the station, you are moving relatively slow compared to the rest of the ride and it just feels like the wheels have flats spots on them. I'm not saying its as rough as a woodie, but it is rough for only being open for 3 days. How will it be after a few months or a few years? I305 is smooth running on the track, the transitions are quick and jerky but the train running on the track is smooth.
