4th row, what's up with that one empty seat?
OK, I think that they have an different type of accelerometer that we are normally used too in that seat to recording the G forces. But it's hard to see from Carter's video.

BTW, the computer that everybody is referring too that controls Verbolten thanks you guys for calling it more than what it is, even though it's really call a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller). We need it to post on the forums what really happened. Think as it as a tell all:D

The person I spoke to was not 'just' one of the ride operators or kiosk person. This person was at Verbolten, involved in the testing that was going on.

FWIW, the staff that have been stationed at Verbolten seem to be very knowledgeable about the ride. I've spoken at length to several of them over the past few weeks and it's obvious they are way, way more involved with progress of the construction and the details of the operation of most aspects of the ride than say, the Mach Tower staff was. They can give very lengthy, specific, consistent answers to a variety of questions. They've also told me bluntly when they're not allowed to divulge something at that time. Personally, I have a lot of faith in their info.

RE: Verbolten

^I agree. When I was there on Friday I saw one of the guys hangin' out in the station for a little while before going back to his post, and that was when some of the 'official' guys were there. I'm sure he could get a question or two answered.

RE: Verbolten

In my first post (censored, no hard feelings;)) there was a mention of a soft opening April 20. This post makes that more believable.

Stay tuned...

I think Swiftman showed up to ride the soft opening and he learned about the accident. It may have been a Busch Gardens employee training for the opening that messed up and stuck the train. Them running the dummies may not a good sign. People should be on that train.

RE: Verbolten

That post was made because on Friday, we were hearing that there would be testing. Then something happened that canceled it at the last minute. We were all set up on Friday to do some really great coverage but things changed blowing everything we had planned out of the water. :( After getting the early reports of the incident the last thing I thought we'd see was testing so I wasn't able to get someone (or myself) in place to report on the testing. We're just very fortunate that Jordan Ford was there and was able to get the information he needed to be in the right place at the right time. Huge, huge thanks to him.

RE: Verbolten

I don't know if they are going to do it when it is raining though. The testing yesterday was mostly for publicity and not many people are gonna be there to see it today. When they do test again though, I hope someone films the entire time the train is in the building so we get a feel for how long it is going to be in there and see some of the second launch.

Yeah, he did some great reporting on Twitter yesterday.

RE: Verbolten

I talked to a girl that was in the operations booths helping dispatch and she told me under her breath that "April" will be the soft opening date and hinted me to next weekend. Of course it isn't official but most soft opening are never actually told by the park it's just if you lucky enough to be there that day.

The station is now 100% ready
The queue is about 90% just needing line poles
The store is 90% ready just needing merchandise added.
The lockers are 100% ready
The testing is 90% ready
(This is all coming from the girl in the operation booth)

Also the testing yesterday was NOT at full speed I was told. Although they have tested it at full speed. They also tested each block break yesterday dispatching it and at each block break stoping it for several minutes.

I was told once the rain stops today testing will begin again of not earlier.

RE: Verbolten

Thanks for the updates! Are you going back today if the rain settles down?

Also, you have some new reputation points. ;)

RE: Verbolten

Due to the inclement weather in the area, Busch Gardens will be closing at 3 p.m. today, April 22. We're sorry for the inconvenience.

I don't think we will be seeing any testing today for some reason.

That's odd, they usually don't close for just rain.

The rain is supposed to be very heavy in places. It's gonna be dumping until Monday I've read.

Even with very heavy rain they usually stay open unless a tornado, hurricane, or loss of power happens. I think it could be a numbers thing. Not too many people there on a rainy Sunday.
