That said Theme Park Central....you sure? Besides, it's all shaky cam, and 12 minutes long...bleh.
Don't mean to double post, just wanted to say this
Sorry about that, that was a typo. Okay, a major error, but im kinda sick, so i'm going to make a few mistakes here and there when typing now. Probably should have waited to post that here, but thanks for catching my mistake, wouldn't have noticed it otherwise.
Oh, and thank you Swift for catching the mistake as well, again, i wouldn't have noticed it.

If you're not tired of looking at great pictures yet, make sure you check out the great, high quality pictures that BGEscape just posted! LINK

RE: Verbolten

-The ride is the most expensive ride to date for BGW, and one of the largest capital investments to date company wide. (Though Larry Giles declined to reveal exactly how much.)

Wow, even more then DarKastle? This makes me really curious as to just how much DarKastle cost, as I hear ~20 mil but Spider-man cost Universal ~100 mil. I'd also like to know how much Journey To Atlantis cost, as that seems pretty heavily themed.

Even with this knowledge in tow, I don't expect anything more then some cutouts, flashing lights and fans blowing wind on you. Also, just theming the entrance to the event building reminds me of Tomb Raider at Kings Island, where it looks nice, but you can always see that giant box in the back. Busch must just have an aversion to theming whole buildings (see DarKastle). The concept art of the flower field and the entrance to the event building look great but I'm not sure the real thing will look anywhere near as good.

Anyways, did they say anything about that wrecked brick wall at the entrance? Is that where one of those decked out cars with the "vine eating" equipment will be sitting? Will it be a highly themed entrance sign?

RE: Verbolten

All I can say after seeing all of those pictures (and when I mean all, I mean every single one released by anyone) is WOW! I am completely speechless! From one of the pictures posted though (shown below), it looks as if we might have ourselves a yellow car. Also, definitely looks like they repainted that track ;)

First, the theming inside the building is going to be a lot more than just that. But that's all I will say about it.

As for the entrance. It will be really good. Yes that spot in the wall will be where the car goes.

RE: Verbolten

So I love the progess, it really is coming along. I like how Larry says no one won't be able to go into the event building and see it ever again like that because it will be jam packed with themeing. Gives me high hopes. Also, those red hand/vine things around the track in on of the BGEurope pictures, looks like they may be just cut out but it looks like they are also creating a tunnel which is looking really good. I love how the queue starts off like DarKastle and winds around out side a bit before going into the queue building. I love how they made the station look like a mechanics shop. Things are coming together nicely. Still, I think testing could finish by mid March, themeing will be finished by April and hopefully the ride will be finished and ready by mid April, early May. At the latest June. If all goes well. I would have thought the hard hats would've looked cooler than that, but hey they still look awesome.

I don't think this has come up yet but how will Verbolten effect the Roller Coaster Tour? Will they do the same for the other coasters, take you to the maintenance bay, control booth, and you get to ride it a few times, or what exactly can we expect with that? I think it would be cool if they took you into the event building, but I doubt they will. Then again, you never know.

RE: Verbolten

^ Did you not watch the video from TPC? Larry Giles said special effects testing would be going on for most of April. And I highly doubt them changing the tour. Too many things to mess up, wires, scenery, etc. and of course: Liability. Besides, it's a multi-launching coaster with many effects and scenery that need to be perfectly timed, they'll probably have to do daily morning testing to make sure everything works right.

Probably just a few rides before verbolten opens... But I could see them adding the option, either go to the top of griffon, or go in the "black forest" on Verbolten, but probably not both

Me too. They did a little bit of that with Griffon's queue also. I hope it becomes a trend, as it's much nicer then the standard claustrophobic concrete box (which makes me sick when it's hot out and there's a ton of people without deodorant packed in).

RE: Verbolten

That makes me think, how much capacity does the queues hold with this. From what I've seen of the theming, I'm not sure how much of that building is theming and how much is queue.

RE: Verbolten

^not sure, but while a lot of the queue is themed, the theming should not take up that much space

Im so sorry it so long was trying to get everything... what do you expect to hold a Camera that long ?

That's why they make video editing software.

Spelled posted this link before, but I think it's worth noting that he has pics of story details.

Yes I did see the video, but the park doesn't like to ever give out exact details. I honestly think they would try to work a bit harder and squeeze more into two weeks rather than a month. He probably really only said that to give a cushion space so if anything does go wrong, people still think its part of the plan. They only tell you what they want you to know.
As for the tour, this coaster is not as complicated as you may think. You act as if the electrician is going to do a bad job and have jumbles of wire just laying around or the themeing is just going to be thrown around. Things will probably be neat and organized. Plus, I am sure they have designated paths/areas where people can travel without messing things up. I'm pretty sure that path to/from the event building during the tour has a purpose other than the tour. Liability is an issue but it is just as big an issue going to the top of Griffon.
In case you were not aware, EVERY ride goes through daily morning testing every morning. They don't just start it up and say its good. They go through and test every ride to see if it works properly. Verbolten should be no different.

I actually didn't notice that at Griffon. It just looks like a large space off to the side for overflow, but it really looks like you just walk straight into the queue building.

PzP, I wouldn't worry about the queue building not holding enough people. The themeing looks like it can be easily held up against the walls without taking up too much space, plus they have the path before entering the queue building that can be put to good use for part of the queue.
