RE: Verbolten

Regarding any backstage tours, both Party Rocker and Andrew have good points. There is an inherent risk to any backstage tours parks hold because you are going into a restricted area. That's not to say, guests will have the opportunity to do a backstage tour.

From the tour, the building doesn't look very well-lit at all, even for a construction area. Not sure if that was intentional to hide some elements or not.

There will be hazards, because the area is restricted. There will be tons of dangers around regardless. Guests will have to be guided through maintenance paths to avoid as many of those inherent dangers as possible.

As for the construction tour, the ride looks awesome. My expectations have been met so far. Can't wait until May!

RE: Verbolten

Yeah I hope they dont just end the stone wall with just that... cuz as long as there isnt a lot of vegetation around there, which may take a few years, that view is gonna be sparse and cheap looking.

There is a reason that Busch requires you to be 14 to go to the top of griffon

Remember when the leaves come in, the view of the event building will be very hard to see. Now the rhine river drop they apparently are saving most of the trees they kill.

It was intentionally dark in there. I could clearly see where lights were turned off.

RE: Verbolten

But my point stands as there is a present danger in any ride area, it just depends on if the park feels it is a less danger to do tours.

Also, I can confirm a yellow train is on site at the park. If you think the trains look great in the pictures, wait till you seem in person.

EDIT:

All five trains are at the park and the colors are:

Green, Red, Blue, Orange, and Yellow

Surprise is out

RE: Verbolten

^^Definitely called that yellow train. Also, I'm very interested to see how these lateral g's work out. To me, it seems like they are trying to push you to the side of your seat (as opposed to the direct downwards force with the correct banking) to make you feel like you are making a sharp turn in a car. I guess they just banked the track a bit less than what is "normal."

RE: Verbolten

I would just like to thank everyone who participated in the HHT and provided the updates. Very much appreciated.

Can't wait to see the bridge completed.

RE: Verbolten

Just wondering...does anyone have an idea of how long Verbolten's lines will be once it opens? I mean, remember Griffon's lines throughout 2007? Remember how bad they even were in 2011? I'm thinking it'll be a madhouse. Jut sayin'

Speaking of this, is there any chance or confirmation that Verbolten will have Quick Queue? Thoughts?

Too bad they don't let the geeks like us go first--after all, we're the ones who have been all about Verbolten for years! :p

It's not included in QQ or QQ Unlimited.

However, they are selling a QQ Unlimited PLUS this year for $10 more than the QQ Unlimited. That will included a ONE time QQ use for Verbolton. (So it'll cost you $10 for a one time QQ use on Verbolton).

Employees are being told in orientation that it will most likely have a 2+ hour wait most of the season

Oh and guess what the yellow train's license plate says? Larry Giles... don't believe me? wait til VB opens

RE: Verbolten

I highly doubt the queue itself will be able to hold 3000 people at a time. XD Do they plan to use temporary queue lines?

RE: Verbolten

^ They normally do after a ride first opens. They had the line stretching across the Italy-Germany bridge on the closing day of the Wolf.

RE: Verbolten

They had plans to do that with MT, but after everybody heard it crashed, the temporary line was not needed... I believe they still have pockets for temporary lines for DK though

RE: Verbolten

^ A friend that worked Mach said the first couple weeks were pretty much dead and the ride was a walk on. The crowds didn't really pick up until Labor Day.

I waited 30 mins to ride Griffon opening year. It helps to ride in the middle of the season when the weather's hot and the park is dead.

Even then, the line should still be manageable as long as operations are smooth (and the park doesn't hold back on other trains like they did on Griffon). First few weeks after Griffon opened, the line maxed out at 2 hours with 1 train operations.
