It's very possible they didn't want to reuse anything, B&M didn't. At any rate Intamin would have cost a lot. I expect CP had some idea before the first quote of what it would be worth to them, max., to fix the coaster especially reusing any part or concept from it, or for any ride on the same time schedule. Anything above those numbers is simply not a competitive option, because this a real business not social media.
Ok, but if you spend less money, but still a lot, and end up possibly with nothing, how is that better?

Hopefully Zamperla is blacklisted after this mess(assuming it doesn’t open this season). Taking on a 400ft coaster as your first big ride is insane. And CP actually let it happen. As it stands the ride is more unreliable than an Intamin ride which is wild lol.

Definitely not happy with them right now. How is Busch gardens Tampa? I already have plane tickets non refundable so I’m thinking of going somewhere else if it’s not open.. I’m not going to CP to be teased by something I can’t ride.
It wouldn’t hurt my feelings if Zamperla went back to kiddie rides only. They don’t produce good rides. Many of their flat rides are uncomfortable and cheaper knock offs of superior rides. (Endeavour vs Entetprise, Gryphon vs Swing Around, their lesser quality wave swingers and pirate ships, etc). There is too much of this Zamperla junk at too many parks these days as the paths go the cheaper route.

It seems unlikely this can't be fixed since theyve already operated the ride for a period of time, though what fixed looks like may be less than ideal. If the ride ends up with remodeled heavier duty trains with half the capacity due to weight, that's not the greatest success and probably requires the ride to go to timed tickets of some sort.

A big selling point from Zamperla on this ride was that the trains were lightweight. Light trains leads to less energy needed to impart on the launch. it also turns out they had no idea how this would impact the vehicles at 100+ mph, as clearly evidenced by the stress analysis position they posted imediately after the incident, and recently filled. They are now, almost certainly, going through the process of significant redesign of the ride vehicles. After this is completed, the launch will most likely need to be re-profiled. I don't think there will be major issues with getting this done, after the trains are ready that is.

I'm standing by my earlier statement of "most likely not this season, maybe you get lucky in the fall" with a strong preference towards not this season.

The transcript you posted yesterday sure seems like the park doesn't even know. Which is fine, I'd think people would appreciate an official park update simply saying "We, along with the ride's manufacturer, are still actively working to bring TT2 back into operation" statement.

This is the best view of it so far. I've entirely checked out of caring about this ride this year; if it opens, cool. Not counting on it or planning a trip around it.

We have movement...

Supposedly they've been doing this kind of taking intermittently for a bit now.

My best guess is they're resorting to an educated guess and test method since their first attempt was not great.

I would guess they are trying to get an idea what the real stresses on the train are from the ride as their models aren't correct. This is a risk with reusing an existing structure as you have to make a lot of assumptions on the condition and strength.

I wish I could find the tweet again but they were looking at the track and launch fins under blacklight according to pictures.

I do want to apologize about my inflammatory comment regarding Zamperla. If they are able to get it right eventually I don’t want them black listed. It’s just really frustrating to move around on vacation plans for this. Question

Why do they test it at such crazy hours? Why not at like 11pm that’s when the park has had time to empty
