Like what, they already have Vekoma trains on the rails and I believe either them out Morgan may have been brought in from time to time to do some track work?

I could see vekoma giving this old girl "plastic surgery" :)
A Vekoma re-tracking of the whole course similar to Python at Efteling would do wonders for the ride when the time for either demolition or renovation inevitably comes. (Let's be real though, Nessie can't actually close, it's going to operate forever.) Apart from the brakes, station, lift, and any other non-high stress area of track the whole course could be re-profiled and re-tracked to allow for a smoother ride experience, as well as alleviating some of the maintenance troubles that the older track brings to the table. I just hope they don't remove any of that classic Arrow coathanger charm on the drops, they can reprofile the entry and exit into the loops all day, but touch the drops and we might have a problem.

This is also a pipe-dream, but if they could somehow put lap bars on Nessie I think that would also open up the array of riders even more as the neck banging would be removed entirely, also that first drop with just a lap bar would be some straight heat.

Forgot to post this the other day but there is a water boom setup around the base of Nessie's Final drop and loop. Anyone aware of any maintenance work that would require this?

Only thing I can think of, and this is probably wrong, is they've cleaned then regreased the 2nd lift chain so that boom is to catch any potential grease spills into the water from any drops that come off of the trains as they cycle.

Either that or paint, though I think they usually encircle the track section with tarps/plastic and paint usually sinks in water.

Regressing the second left chain or something like that also came to mind for me to. It's definitely not painting as she was repainted completely a few years ago and still looks really good.

It could also be due work unrelated to the ride systems such as something with the on-ride photo camera or something they're doing on the land that may not be all that obvious. Grasping at straws there though...
