Well, I mean for those who read most of the signs in the park, especially looking at the restaurant menus which are all posted outside along the main path for the most part, if you are looking for food there is almost no way you can miss it. Personally, I think they should make Banbury Cross more lively during the mornings. I mean it is typically very empty of things to do while waiting for the other villages to open. That is why having a show playing right when they open is a great idea and London Rocks! will do just that.

They really do need to continue serving breakfast.

PR, most people eat breakfast either before leaving to the park or eat along the way. So most people don't associate Busch Gardens with breakfast, since official opening time is 10. Most people are planning for lunch by then. So it's a matter of, if BG had let everyone know that they serve breakfast while in the planning stages of their day. Like mentioning it when they mention their other food. Just a simple "Hey start your day at Squire's Grille, with X, Y and Z breakfast foods." would do.

Because nobody's going to pay attention to a food place at 9:30-10:30 in the morning, if they've previously eaten.

It's not a "READ THE SIGN!!!" thing. It's a "Most people just flat out don't know this option even exists to begin with." thing.

But see it's not like the sign isn't there later in the day. Especially for people who visit repeatedly, the sign I am referring to includes all three meals listed all day. If you visit once and read the sign for say lunch or dinner, you see that it also has breakfast and at that point things should click and then you may plan your next visit to try breakfast.

I'm not saying that this is the only one true way, but it is one of the few reasons why. I agree with the reason you listed. It's not something people associate with the park, but if you visit repeatedly and have stopped by Squire's Grille once it should be something you have at least seen on a sign.

To be honest, I think I've seen that sign once. Seeing it once doesn't mean you remember it.

I've been Squire's any number of times, and every single time it's a reaction of "Oh yeah. They serve breakfast." and the people I'm with always give the response of "They serve breakfast here?????" no matter how many times we walk in.

If it's not outwardly mentioned outside of looking at a menu, it's not advertising the fact that yes they do serve breakfast.

Their breakfast is very decent. I can't say it is really good because I've had a bad one before, but it has the potential to be really good. I do really like their tater tots and the English muffins.

For me this is such a sad end to breakfast at Busch Gardens. The breakfast at Squires is one of the bet deals in the park. I am not surprised the park is shutting this down as it used to be a season pass member "thing" in the Old Country Days.

Before the English Baker, there was the Muffin Man. Every Morning when the park opened the Banbury Air was filled with the glorious aroma of baking blueberry muffins covered in butter. The line for these gigantic muffins would be out the door and my family would make sure to get there early to enjoy this treat with juice and coffee.

England breakfast was very popular. All the tables were bustling with folks enjoying breakfast before their morning trip to the park.

With rising prices everywhere, people began to cut corners. I would venture that this led to the decline of people eating several meals at the park. Breakfast would be easily cut from the daily expenditures. As much as I would have loved to see an effort to push breakfast now, I think even advertising it would be a losing battle. People would rather save their money and eat breakfast at home, their free hotel continental breakfast, or the local cheap all-you-can-eat waffle house before heading into the park.

It is very sad indeed as only us few die hard park enthusiasts remembered how fun it was to eat breakfast; relaxing under the umbrellas next to Big Ben while watching all the tourists pile in.

For years I still lament over the loss of the over sized buttery blueberry muffins. Now it is time to add the last of the breakfast experience at Busch Gardens to the list of "remember when."

Oh to Busch Gardens breakfast at Squire's: Parting is such sweet sorrow.

I sympathize with your wonderful memories of the breakfasts at Squire's and The English Baker. I too have enjoyed the egg, bacon, hash brown and english muffin breakfast at the former. I don't know if it will change, but M. Sweets Confectionary this year and at least last year has stocked three different muffins, and I'm certain one of them is blueberry. They are delicious. My husband and I were lucky enough to sample one of them on the kitchen tour portion of the Ultimate Park Tour last year and he has been a devoted fan ever since. I know he had one last week because he shared it with me.

Don't forget feeding the squirrels your hash browns! They are always pretty fearless, but on the quiet mornings they practically took them out of your hands -- I remember this happening with us at the tables right out front in the main courtyard AND of course when seated at the table around the back overlooking the wooded area.

So, I kept reading that link Mazakman posted and it looks like there are going to be new food offerings. Is there a possible change to the menu at Squires?

Not only is the Globe undergoing a renovation, but the England area will receive an overhaul and more British fare will be added to the menu.

Why the heck would they change/remove one of the last quality eateries left in the place? You dont fix something that is not broke, Squire's Grille most certainly is not broke. The removal of that is the removal of the last bit of dining coin they get from me.

I have to admit that I had no idea they served breakfast, until people here started discussing it. Even knowing about it, I am not likely to waste the early part of the day eating, when there are fewer people in the park and the lines are shorter. I usually grab something at home or on the way. So, I can see where this wasn’t cost effective for them.

But exactly what you just said is what the park is missing out on. The families who go there often and can slow it down to not just ride rides but enjoy the scenery can enjoy it. Take rides out of the equation for many and show everything else offered like scenery(or what little is left) and you have a whole new world to make money. A many times we have gone to BGW JUST to eat a meal, especially if we were in Colonial or driving 64. Those days are gone with the removal of scenery, atmosphere, and using cheaper food suppliers.

As I have stated a many times, up until last season it was a regular thing for me to be there at least ten times a month with 5+ people at a time. We would buy meals, snacks, and every so often QQ, that is a large chunk of money we threw at them each time. Since close of '12 season I have bought zero meals there and 14 family members that did the same thing have canned their passes. Nothing more than a case of bending over to pick up pennies while dollars fly over their heads.

Interesting.

I honestly can't imagine stopping at BGW just for the food, myself. We sometimes do stop at Pierces.

But I agree, they should have tried marketing breakfast, before just canceling it.

I could not imagine EVER wanting breakfast at a theme park especially when most hotels offer a free breakfast.

Also, my family is the type to just go to Busch for a meal and walk around (then leave) but we are also pass members who live in Williamsburg. I doubt we are the norm.
