I know it's early but this was just posted this week on FB and the profile that posted it list the poster as the Senior Entertainment Coordinator for BGW so it looks like Scrooge No More is returning this year.

I was about to say... There definitely wasn't a post about it coming back when I replied. I had to scroll way down to find the show post... Thanks for clearing this up @Nicole

Also, for what it's worth @Thomas spelling is also 'fundamental'...

Is it just me or does $15.57 starting pay sound very low for a job where not only the child has to perform, but the parent has to be present?

Who pays for the wasted time of the parent?

It's like a buck more than what actors have received for years. Guess they aren't included in the pay bumps?

Maybe I'm showing my age a bit, but I only was able to make that kinda cash for busting my ass mowing neighbors lawns - $15 for about a quarter acre with a decent but non-propelled mower, add $5 for trimming/edging - would usually take at least 2 hours. Good to see a talented young person make a lot more in a day than I did!

That does bring up a good point - I know there are some parents that are able to put everything aside for their child's interests/prospects, but I feel like that's more an exception and not the rule. Would said parent be just hanging out in a room backstage where they could conceivably work if they had to?

The world of child actors is incredibly different than most people will know. When the kid is a performer, typically the parent is either highly involved in it or they have an incredibly flexible job. My bet for BGW because of child labor laws and parent availability they would like for 3-5 kids to fit this role.

+1. I was about to make a very similar post. A place near me once held a photo session to audition kids for adverts. My wife took my son for fun. There were some kids with like pro headshots and makeup teams. Sorta like that reality show where mom's are enrolling toddlers in beauty pageants...

I sure hope the kids they get aren't so 'show-business' about it that they don't get to have fun in the process. Curious if park passes are a perk of the job (given how things seem to be going, I wouldn't be all that surprised to hear that admission is reduced but not free).

There’s a good number that are homeschooled, when they aren’t learning or performing are in dance, voice, acting, and/or improv classes. Like I said, child acting world is really different.
