The poor crow on the shoulder of Christmas yet to Come did not spend a good summer in storage. It is beat to snot, frayed and bent out of shape. It almost looked menacing, but I found it to comical to take seriously.

Was at the park Saturday and no show. The signs are still outing in front. I checked last week and it was on the calendar as being open until Sunday. It no longer on the app calender.

Here's some other pictures of the show to go along with the ones that @nick posted that I took back in early December. Included a close up of Scrooge for you @Zachary based on your comment.

I see this every time I go to the park during Christmastown and it remains my single favorite piece of entertainment in the park and one of my favorite theme park stage shows of all time - up there with FotLK and Untrainable. Awesome actors, great sfx with the projections combined with physical sets, and a wildly good soundtrack.
I wish the music would get released on streaming tbh

I get chills almost every time when the Ghost of Christmas Future dives onto Scrooge right at the climax of the scene, when he realizes the error of his ways, the music swells, and the giant clock projection starts rolling backwards. It’s so masterfully done.

The whole show is also such an incredibly faithful retelling of the original story, considering its <30 minute runtime and the fact that it’s a musical. And the original songs are great (Just Leave Me Alone is a banger). I love this show.

Plus, it’ll always impress me that the show was reportedly a last-minute course correction after their original Scrooge No More concept, about a washed up British rock star named Eddie Kneezer, was deemed too bad to show guests. Crazy to think that the show as we know it only happened because of a major “oh shit” moment.

I wish every year that we could see the treatment/script/etc for the original version of this show. Some of it comes through in the show's original music, but I wish we had a more complete picture of the British rocker version because, truthfully, I feel like the idea wasn't THAT bad on paper—just... wild.

Ultimately, even if the washed up rockstar version had been good, it definitely wouldn't have been as timeless as I feel Scrooge No More has become. Very glad we ended up with the show as-is in the end.

I'm working on a documentary-style YouTube video about the history of SNM. If anyone has any fun facts about the history of the show/its predecessors, or interesting info about the Eddie Kneezer version, or any behind-the-scenes photos or anything, please feel free to send them to me!
And I'm taking the Scrooge Insider Tour tomorrow!

To the employee I was just talking to who said “oh, you’re the one who posted that!”, hello!! Documentary SHOULD be out 12/25

I've never been a big fan of plays, but I feel the short format that these use hold my interest. The whole cast was very impressive. I was really impressed with how the younger kids fit right in.

I watched the Christmas Carol retelling at Silver Dollar City yesterday. While I thought the production value was very impressive (it is a Herschend park after all), the music choices were kinda forgettable and they made the ghost of Christmas Present pretty mean spirited (pun intended). It was a full hour long production but it felt a bit padded out in places. Good show but I think Dollywood has the corner market on shows in that company right now.

Unfortunately the music for A Dickens' Christmas Carol took a hit a few years ago when essentially all of the songs (preexisting selections for various movies, stage shows, etc.) were swapped out for an original score of soundalikes. The production quality is still top-notch and the cast always gives plenty of heart and energy in their performances.

Finally got around to seeing SNM this year. Wanted to share four random observations I had during the show.

1. I never paid attention to how much the show’s music gives away SNM’s original British rocker storyline. Just Leave Me Alone and the Christmas Past song very clearly have a rock and roll twang to them. Just Leave Me Alone is heavy on drums and cymbals, and Christmas Past’s song is clearly a rock song with an electric guitar as the main instrument. I love both these songs - just funny observing how they’re a relic of the show’s early history.

2. Scrooge’s line about how his fingers “hurt like heck” has been changed to “hurt like the Dickens.” It got a genuine chuckle from the audience. I like that they’re still tinkering with even the tiniest details of the show like this.

3. I wasn’t a fan of how the acting was directed this year, and I hope next year’s show director tones things down. Many of the actors’ (Scrooge, Fezziwig, Christmas Past and Present) line deliveries were so hammy and over the top that it was impossible to feel invested in the emotion of the story. The line delivery of the Scrooge character I saw yesterday was particularly hard to listen to — a really forced attempt at a British accent + grumpy old man voice. It sounded like watching a play for young children. Did anyone else feel this way this year? I don’t expect stone-cold drama from a theme park musical, but I’ve seen some great actors in SNM over the years, and part of the show’s charm is that it’s not just fun and silly but also a faithful retelling of a deeply moving story.

4. The projections were as crystal clear as I’ve ever seen them. Anyone know if they upgraded the projectors recently? A small gripe of mine has always been that the visuals have been distractingly blurry, but this year that wasn’t an issue at all. A nice surprise!

Still love this show. Hope they tone down the line delivery for next year’s show. Long live SNM!

I can speak to the projectors and say that @Zachary and I noticed that they were VERY clear during Monster Stomp. I want to say they re-calibrated them(?) regardless, whatever they did to them was very much needed.
