One of the fan groups posted on Facebook, and most people seemed to have taken it as a permanent closure or because of pandemic restrictions though there were a few thinking it was due to the construction zone.

One person did comment they thought it would be interesting to relocate to the old Dinosaurs Alive space. Not sure there's interest in doing that or if it's even possible.

I agree. I always had to ignore the fact I was going bobsledding next to an active volcano back in the day.

Assuming they're keeping it as part of a new Safari Village area, I hope they give it a new coat of paint to match the area.

Bravo social media person - though to be honest it's really hard to tweet in a brand voice, IMO it's far better to be human about it.


Otherwise, I'm curious if it's just refreshing the old paint scheme or will be something totally different?

My bet is something different (I have nothing to back this up) based on what they did with Apple Zapple Ricochet in 2018. I know a few years ago, there was a survey done that talked about the guests wanting theming/ storylines/ etc. Avalanche is much easier to retheme because it was already in need of a paint job and I am sure the cars will just get new decals. The queue and station are minimal so adding some props wouldn't cost much either. Also to mention that whatever occupies the open plot of land next door has a fresh slate for whatever they decide to do.

All of this news about Avalanche is certainly X-citing, I’ll tell you that! Hope they take X-tra care in finding a way to wrap it into the new theming. I X-pect only the best from here on out!
