It may be that since Avalanche is an older ride that they could have upgraded their current bobsleds and the parts could have changed and maybe some parts aren't being manufactured anymore and some parts are harder to come by then others. Just a thought.

Mack hasn't built a a Bobsled in over a decade. The last one to open was Trace du Hourra in 2001 at Parc Asterix near Paris and they only have produced a total of six worldwide.

Bobsled technology hasn't been advancing to the point where parts would become obsolete. And Mack surely isn't short on resources to keep producing parts.

Mack owns Europa Park and maintains everything in there. They also have another bobsled a few hours to the north in Heide Park.

I think this really comes down to a cost saving measure on Cedar Fair's part. If there are any compatible parts between the Intamin and the Mack at the two parks why throw them away, just send them to Virginia. Waste not want not.

Because the Queue is only about 100 feet long and the ride ops often take their time with dispatching trains. It's a great family ride so pretty much everyone comes to ride it at least once.

Ok thankyou, I was going to ride it the other day but I didn't think it was worth the wait. It also seems like kd coasters lines go alot slower than bg

Because a lot of the coasters only have one car running, mostly the wooden ones

Avalanche often runs 2 trains a day unless it's a quiet day.

There are only like 4 operating in the country as of now, so Kings Dominion has a very unique coaster n their possession. There might be 5 next year with Flying Turns @ Knoebels possibly opening.

Well it does have the shortest Queue in the world for that caliber of an attraction.

Avalanche is awesome! But I've never waited in line for it before. I think it is generally under-appreciated.

Odd usually Av has about a 10-15 minute wait due to everyone hopping from Volcano right to it.

I love avalanche, it's really one of the most unique rides in terms of theming and ride experience.

When I was a kid, the line used to pour out of the queue, wrap around the corner, go down a small hill under the monorail, turn another corner left and go up a hill all the way to the entrance of Livingston's(outer hanks)!!!
