I'm sorry, but the only thing that plays in my head when I picture this mentally is a little kid's mind just screaming, "OH SHIT, I HAVE TO DRIVE THIS THING???!!!!!"Back when Joe Cool was Rugrats they had to stop the ride and carry me off because I started hysterically crying at the thought of operating a vehicle.
Both were usually down for staffing reasons. I know people usually preferred operating turnpike because there's shade. That is why Road Rally was the one usually closed when staffing was low.Road Rally, at least from what I observed, had a lot of downtime. It wasn’t uncommon for Joe Cool’s to be down too. Not a big loss, and this definitely opens the door to a family coaster within the next few years, probably as soon as 2027.
Road Rally was installed in 1990 for what it's worth.Removal of Road Rally doesn’t surprise me unfortunately. It’s been around since ‘78 which to me is monumental for a small kid’s ride that takes up significant space. Ironically enough this was the first ride I’ve ever had experience operating so it is kinda bittersweet. Wonder how the Planet Neptune team feels about this one.
Edit: a while ago I did a Maps comparison and it does look like a Vekoma family boomerang a la Accelerator at Drayton Manor could fit in the Road Rally/Turnpike plot.

I just hope they keep the little pond that Peanuts Road Rally runs over. I always thought that was a nice little water feature that was overlooked by most guests because it was obscured by the ride.
The same track was used with train engine shaped vehicles before then. The loading station was also moved, it used to be in the same building as the turnpike.Road Rally was installed in 1990 for what it's worth.
That ride was called the Old ‘98 Railroad to be exact. Deep cut of Kings Dominion history. The same track was used with train engine shaped vehicles before then. The loading station was also moved, it used to be in the same building as the turnpike.
I spent a lot of time riding those little trains when I was a kid. Sad to see it go because when it was open kids seemed to love it.That ride was called the Old ‘98 Railroad to be exact. Deep cut of Kings Dominion history.
Wow we get berserker’s land too, I completely forgotGiven Berserker’s proximity to Joe Cool’s, I wonder if they would use some of Joe Cool’s land for more space for a flat ride replacement rather than just using it all for a planet snoopy makeover
