Would this be the first coaster where shitty ad wraps would actually make sense?

That being said im sure (and really hope) they are going to properly retheme superman, especially considering the cf track record, but I also honestly think there's a non zero chance they go "well now that there's a dangerous sea creature, thats a real reason to have superman save the day!" Or some bs lol

I could also see them leaving it for a few years, especially since it was just repainted and instead focus on other areas. Backlot Stunt Coaster wasn't rethemed with the rest of Jungle X-pedition at Kings Dominion (though that would require a much bigger rework to fit the theming).
So to be honest, they could still use most of the same color scheme with only minor touching up.
Honestly, the color scheme still looks pretty nice and there's no reason you can't use Kite Flyer as a theme with the same color, or even just support recolor (give it that sorely missed Scream Machine scheme.
Keep the red and change the supports to one of the new boardwalk colors and then just take the superman decals off.
It's honestly one of the easiest rethemes.

The red is kinda in rough shape though. The last repaint was really half-assed by legacy SF, it got painted in some spots but not the entire ride. If you're gonna repaint the ride why not just go all the way? I honestly think an aviation (idk if they have a name but could theme it to those planes that fly over the shore all the time) theme or Parasailing theme could work. The bubble already kinda feels like an air hanger. Honestly the biggest change they could make is a landscaping overhaul because its really just overgrown grass and looks really bad.
Oh I agree it should be repainted, I just think it could easily be "dethemed" pretty fast and then given a coat of paint later if it's not in the budget/priority.
I think the red/cream/blue coloring they're using for the boardwalk, and stands out really strong in the new funnel cake stand is the perfect color combo for it.

I’d love to see 2-3 more flat rides enter into shoreline pier near Superman. If the drop tower is the actual addition, please add something else smaller kids can go on.
But the actual need of this park is a family coaster like what fiesta Texas is getting or what Dollywood had. That’s such a missing addition and necessary addition. A world class family thrill coaster

Dude, I'm with you kidding/not kidding. That actually would work great and hope they go that route with it reusing the early name for Bakunawa. It grew on me over the months if done right with theming. The Phantom Spire name with a tall something would work so well with Fright Fest and mood lighting.What if the Drop Tower’s name is….

I could see the west side of The Boardwalk being two phases. New drop tower replaces Slingshot and a small part of The Right Stuff building. New coaster replaces the rest of The Right Stuff building, Go Karts, and Dare Devil Dive land.
The sheer amount of usable land in this photo scares me because I feel most of it will go unused.
I’ve heard people say return some to the parking lot but then you’re giving up grade A land that most already associate with ride space.
The area around shoreline pier needs to be occupied. Especially to the right of Superman and left of the shoreline.
If you wanted to keep the space between shoreline and bak vacant and fill in with landscape, fine. But you can’t do that with the plot along the rear of shoreline
Fill that in first and the. Add something great in the go-kart plot

You already have the most adult-ride-dense section of the park with the current Shoreline Pier rides and the addition of Bakunawa next year in that area. The rest of the park can use some love too.
For all I care, they could flat out REPLACE Superman with a family woodie, but I do think a retheme is far more likely.
That said, Superman is 23 years old. I can see it easily making it to 30, but I’m not so convinced about 35+.

I think it makes the most sense to remove Superman and use that space, plus the sliver of Green Lantern left and the Right Stuff/go-cart tracts, for one new family woodie or family Vekoma. Something high capacity.
Superman is still popular and should have plenty of life left though, no? There’s enough other spaces that ride could go, no need to remove it
If it's a long-term question of what to do with the Green Lantern spot, plus the Right Stuff/go-cart tract, which is large, and if at the same time the park is looking at 23-year old Superman and it needing a refurb sometime in the next 7-10 years to keep it going, is a ride that old of that type one they envision in the park in 20 years? Or will it be retired and removed in the 30-35 year range? I don't see it as iconic and core of a ride as say El Toro, which is why it's getting a refurb and committment it's going nowhere for years to come. Nitro is also in that status. Batman seems to be, too. Medusa seems not long for this world despite a small passionate group of us that love it for what it is. I guess the question is, is Superman a core park ride to be invested in for another 23 years or not? The answer to that then dictates what the options are and are not for the other two pieces of land on either side of it in the Boardwalk in this moment when that land is available and not being used while everything around it is being redeveloped.
They could easily keep and retheme Superman then refurbish it in 7-8 years and put a mix of family rides, drop tower, and maybe something else in the other spaces. But if I'm Mike and Ryan, etc, I'd want to ask the big question right now before going ahead with that and pose if we can go bigger by retiring Superman now if we don't view it as a core ride and think of that massive area as one project with many more possibilities without Superman in the middle. They could still do a drop tower and some family rides, but with Superman clear it gives them more freedom to fit a new family coaster for the next 25 years in there than if Superman is still in the middle and they don't want to invest any more in it other than paint for a retheme in the future.
