They need bleachers or a pathway along the entirety of the ride for people to stand near by or sit near by and watch the absolute insanity that is an upside down launch and this tower
I think a lot of us are really hoping for improved path network connectivity as more attractions are built out in the old Golden Kingdom area. Something like this:
I’ve dreamt of that path from Plaza del Carnaval for years. With Golden Kingdom gone (at least for now), PdC now has the smallest amount of attractions in any area in the park, and it’s obviously not as bad because it’s nowhere near as remote as GK was, but more connectivity is always welcome.

In this video from the ace event, Mike says the station structure is exactly as it appears now. Open roof. 2 structures on the side. All that’s left is theming basically
So now we know what the structure is we can begin brainstorming actual theming based on the structural design of the station.
Kinda leaves me perplexed on an idea. Maybe like a shipping container ship that opens in the middle like a draw bridge, that would be cool

So the center station switch position is uncovered...?
So if you return to the station and there's a delay in loading the other train, you're just going to be sitting in the sun, baking...?
And as you're waiting in the station, at all but noon, some part of the queue is just going to be roasting in the sun...?
And the center of the station and the station switch and everything is just going to be exposed to the elements...?
Surely not... Right?
Unless there is some super good thematic reason for this decision (which, to be clear, I do not believe there is because the park has been upfront about the scenic package still being a huge work in progress), BIG YIKES.
Edit: Looking at the current photos again, not even the load positions are really covered. If the roof line really is done on that station, this is gonna suck.

I've been willing to give them a pass on Shoreline Pier's current guest comfort issues because that project was one of the quickest turnarounds from conceptualization to build to open that I've ever seen. They can go back and correct shade structure issues there in the future and, since most everything is just wood framing, it's not a big deal.
Bakunawa, on the other hand, does not get any of that same thematic or guest experience grace. Even if the station had been budget cut to shit by previous management, new management had plenty of time to intervene and fix this apparent, major, glaring guest (and employee!) comfort issue.
Without a REALLY good thematic reason AND some sort of significant mitigation to provide shade to the launch position, this will be a sign to me that this project is still not receiving the investment, focus, and legacy Cedar Fair-touch it very much deserves. Will definitely be a big red flag for me.
Based on BTS tour shots of the stall, I don’t believe they’re planning on sending pathing underneath it. Which is a shame, when you look in your mockup how the park layout is just begging for it. GK is positioned perfectly to be a crossroads for Bakunawa, Toro, and the Ka plot ride.
… which means it’s really going to suck if they also go the cheap route on the station. I can see the safety/insurance arguments not to put guest paths under the stall, but it’s unforgivable if they can’t even enclose the load station. Two big missed opportunities on a project of this scale will hurt, and like you said does not inspire confidence in the new company’s eyes for quality.
Well this is certainly disappointing, was hoping they'd go all out theming wise like they did for Poltergeist at FT but I guess not. Hopefully we're all proven wrong but this isn't exactly exciting

They know something is a bad idea or needs fixed or the GP or thoosie side won’t appreciate or like, yet they chose to ignore being the voice for the majority in favor of their continued access.
Now I understand theirs a financial standpoint they approach this with however constructive criticism is a thing and so is being tactful.
It’s things like this that make me upset with the content creators who have access to the project.

Google Earth imagery has been updated to 7/21/2026.
A month or two ago I was trying to look for an overhead photo to overlay a ride plot onto but the overhead was outdated from when Ka still existed, glad it's updated
News to me that they paved asphalt over the former plot of Ka's tophat. Guessing earlier this year?

Ocean County publishes the proprietary Nearmap aerials they buy, which is relatively uncommon. @Zachary found it a while ago

the themeing and shade situation for SP and now this have me worried. along with the connectivity issues i really can't help but get a pit in my stomach and think we're heading back to the old six flags status quo here. really pleased with how SP turned out so far, but the park desperately needs to fix the walkability and guest experience. the shortcuts they're taking here are foreboding. still hopeful, but worried
During the ACE event Mike or Ryan said they wanted the roof to be open in the center so you could see the stall/tower for anticipation/etc. I don't recall the exact wording but it might be posted on the ACE socials somewhere.
The brake run issue isn't much different than the current rides; Toro, Medusa, Nitro, if there's a dispatch issue the train waiting outside the station is sitting in the elements.
