I'm really hoping the delay means they can go back to the original plans with the new restaurant and the pathway to Fury (and presumably a new themed area), delaying the ride an entire year and it still being the stripped back plans would be pretty disappointing in my opinion. I'm not gonna hold my breath though.

Finally seeing a teaser! Thank goodness. So excited to see what they do throughout the season for teasing.

The park should focus on major TLC across the park for 2026. The Nighthawk pond needs to be addressed, it's current state is embarrassing. Thrill Zone also is in desperate need of new life. If SFEC has the cash to spend, dropping a large thrill flat where Drop Tower was would be a great addition for 2026, and consolation for the delay.

Timber Hallow was trademarked alongside Rip Roarin' Falls, so I could see that being the name of this new themed area.

Really hoping they reverse course on the scaled-back version, and invest in the path connection to Carousel Park, and new restaurant. This would allow for a much nicer guest experience when approaching the park's prime headliner, as well as showing off the shiny new attraction on the way.

The original plans clearly showed a desire to have more of a "park" like setting, with spaces and side paths to relax and take a breather. The landscaping in the plans looked phenomenal. By comparison, the new plan is just a wide promenade with a dead end at the ride's entrance.

Constructing a full new area would also allow the existing Carousel Park to receive major construction work in the future without disrupting park operations. Vortex is unlikely to be operating by the time Rip Roarin' Falls' opens, and the prime spot for the next coaster is clearly the Nighthawk / Vortex plot in Thunder Road / Celebration Plaza / Carousel Park.

In theory, yes, but the segments over water would need to be reinforced with a stronger wood or made of steel to account for splashes from the water ride. Likely? Not really.

Isn’t it about the regional park access? I thought when that subject first came up they said Carowinds would roll it out later.

I wonder if it will still be the super flume or with the delay, if they changed course to possibly a new roller coaster... Carowinds is definitely overdue but they also desperately need a real water ride in the dry park.
As much as I’d rather a coaster than a water ride I think the chances of that happening are next to none. They’ve already purchased the flume, filed all the permits, trademarked names for it, and construction can seemingly start whenever they’re ready, I just can’t imagine them switching the plans up too much from what we already know.

Nothing would prevent them from putting the flume somewhere else. Just look at what rides have gone where they weren’t ordered for. Just because they filed the permits doesn’t mean they have to do anything. Also, all they did so far was level off the land and cut down a great bunch of trees. But this is just my opinion.
