There was something said on a conference call that the parks that received capital
In 2025 they planned to delay 2026 cap ex to 2027 if they were able due to a feeling they didn’t get their full lift in 2025 due to poor attendance and/or early season weather woes.

I can’t remember the exact statement but that’s the gist of it. I hoped this would still happen but I think this is what happened.

Tbh I feel like this is worthy of a revolt. Not that they're delaying it, but the fact they aren't saying a word about it despite promising a "record breaking water attraction" for 2026. It would be one thing if they never announced anything, but back in November of 2024 corporate announced it and when Nighthawk, Scream Weaver, and Drop Tower was announced to be removed the park themselves made a statement saying they were going to introduce a "record breaking water attraction" for 2026. If you pre announce something and stuff beyond your control happens and it has to be delayed or cancelled don't keep quiet, MAKE A PUBLIC STATEMENT ABOUT IT! Great Adventure and Magic Mountain announced their 2026 attraction delays so why can't Carowinds? It may take a fan revolt and/or the local news reaching out to the park to get a statement and that's just ridiculous!

When Whitewater revealed new Super Flume boats at IAAPA for Dollywood's Daredevil Falls, I knew this project was likely to be delayed a year. Incredibly disappointing, but not surprising.

Still no scheduled date for a pre-construction meeting. The permit doesn't expire for years, so they're not exactly in any hurry.

Maybe we'll see a revised project appear as a result of this significant delay, including one of the flats (Giga Discovery, Screamin' Swing) from the survey as part of a new stylized area. Give us the new path to Fury, please!

I actually think they are winding down Carowinds and are trying to decide if they will keep the park or not. Every visit last season pointed to this as they aren’t even running at levels of the past and instead spending that money in Six Flags legacy parks. I honestly think they canceled the water attraction and expect all of our empty plots to sit empty as eyesores for several seasons at best. True sign will be if they move corporate offices away from Charlotte again, especially since most of Cedar Fair corporate is gone so quickly.

Lmao, they just moved their HQ to Charlotte…no way they’re selling the park

I actually think you are full of it 😂

I assure you Caro is safe-safe, @Mojosdad. The way they're handling the park sucks, I know, but many locals at many parks across the chain right now are feeling the same. Caro remains in a much better position than most.

And I 1000% agree with you @Caleb Coasters 325. If they hadn't made public statements about it, they wouldn't have any duty to say a word. The fact that they advertised an attraction that is almost certainly not coming in 2026 and haven't said a word is unacceptable though in my opinion.

Once a company makes a claim to their customers, if that claim turns out to be false for whatever reason, I believe the company has a clear ethical duty to their customers to proactively correct the record as soon as they're aware of the change.

You're a Caro local, right @Caleb Coasters 325? Consider contacting your local news outlets. My assumption is if the park gets requests for comment from actual news agencies, they'll fess up to it instantly. That story should be newsworthy for said local outlets. Assuming they publish on it, that would be a great way to force broader notification of the inaccuracy of Caro's prior statements.

If you or any other Caro local(s) are interested and need any guidance, shoot me a message and I can help.

This company does seem to specialize in spreading misinformation at best, lies at worst. Very little of this appears to be materializing. But anything to sell passes

3.5 out of 9 of these are on track to be ready this season, could be 4.5 since we don't know what's up with Knott's Soak City 😬

To be devil's advocate there's been added projects as well (Valleyfair, Schlitterbahn NB, SFMM kids area), plus all kinds of park improvements across the chain, but yea plans change and this is very out of date.

I'm not a Carowinds local, I'm a KI local. I have only been to Carowinds once. I will say if you guys want to take any sort of action do not bother the park call center associates about this. I have a friend who did just that at KI this past season multiple times and ended up with a 1 year ban from all Six Flags parks. So yes please be careful when it comes to contacting the park or media.

Even a generous 50% is not a good ratio.

Logan was not exercising caution, he was outright harassing guest services at all parks almost daily about ride closures. On top of that he was going into local Facebook groups everywhere to spread misinformation, sensationalize everything on social media, talk down to home parkers who called out his shit, and was trying to build some kind of bogus influencer career. Not to mention the personal stuff about his very bad tenure working at KI and the uhhh... messages he was sending younger guys.

Six Flags doesn't hand out chainwide bans lightly and this one was more than warranted. Suggesting otherwise would be a folly.

Anyways yeahhhh this was to be expected of Carowinds.
