In my experience, OPRA (our state equivalent to FOIA) makes it quite easy to access records on-site at a municipal office, especially if an agency drags their feet on digital delivery. I haven't been down to Jackson myself, but their digital permit system has yielded records unrelated to the new additions. It's an uncommonly opaque process in comparison to other sites I've researched, but they're usually not theme parks

The way this is laid out really emphasizes that empty plot between Boardwalk and Main Street. Guessing that is where the next major additon will go, be it that rumored family woodie or else.

I also can't tell based on the newly released photos, but I do hope that Phantom Spire's stall is positioned so that a path undearneath can connect this new area and whatever replaces Golden Kingdom. It's gonna be a bit of a brutal dead end, and my lord would it be cool to walk under that gigantic launched stall.

I think they've gotta be planning to keep the path under the stall. It's already there for construction vehicle access now. Would cost nothing to keep it thru the landscaping and theming of the area around the new coaster. It makes too much sense as a cut-thru over to the path to El Toro that's there just behind a thin treeline from the new Shoreline Pier that'll be on the other side of the stall. Minor tree cutting and concrete work to connect the paths. It'll totally get rid of the dead end so 🤞

To be clear, I don’t think there are any credible sources for a family woodie being the next addition, it’s just something that folks have expressed an interest in.

The PR manager did mention that he though Great Adventure was missing an entry level wood coaster in the aftermath of the Rolling Thunder removal, but nothing is in the works as far as we know.

True, but I don't think Ryan, or any professional PR person in his position, would float anything if there's absolutely nothing behind it. I don't think it means a woodie is guaranteed. But I think it means it's among the options they're looking at, like drop tower, family vekoma, family woodie, tilt coaster. In his short time at GAdv, he's not yet said anything that turned out to be BS. When he drops hints or mentions something, it has seemed to be deliberate, so far. That can change, of course.

Agreed on all points here. Just mentioning the woodie as an idea of a big ticket attraction that would fit in that constrained space, not a clue or expectation if that actually is the next coaster after Spire. Ryan mentioning it specifically is the kind of smoke that would indicate fire, to use that metaphor, but he very well could be doing the same thing I am and throwing out ideas.

Not sure we can take everything we see from a rendering, but could these be new trains? Rendering shows individual lap bar like the one at Cedar Point rather than the weird over the shoulder double lap bars

I'm going to guess no since those cars are perfectly usable and new hardware from Zamperla wouldn't be able to arrive in time for a summer opening. The need just isn't there. The fiberglass shells are 100% changing though, they can't just paint over the crocodiles and call it a day. That's not too hard to do in house.

If they REALLY wanted lap bar cars they'd have to order the older spinning cars that are less frequently in production nowadays at Zamperla, as the newer design seen on Cedar Point's Wild Mouse (which is depicted in the artwork with the completely straight row and fiberglass wall in the front) is not compatible with any spinning mouse pre-2023. Zamperla's rule of thumb is that stuff is produced in groups; ordering a ride that's hot in demand will see it fabricated more quickly, while a custom order takes more time. Since retrofitting the trains isn't feasible without complete reengineering, that's be a new job from Zamperla, who again aren't producing those trains as much.

Overall they could still do it somehow if they planned it in advance and were determined, but it's not even worth the trouble. Artwork just be artworking.
