If they wanted to paint Ragin’ Cajun, they could probably finish it in about two weeks—maybe even less with how compact the ride is. It’s not a huge, sprawling roller coaster that would take a long time to work through.

I wouldn’t expect much more than that, but at a minimum, a fresh coat of paint would do wonders for the ride and the new area it’s going into. There’s still plenty of time to get a quick paint job done.

Yeah this is my thought too. I wonder how much work it would take to retheme the trains to something shore themed. Having the track be red and yellow and themed to a crab would be kinda cool

In my eyes, it’s this simple: anyone upset about SFGAdv receiving Ragin’ Cajun because it’s not as good as some hypothetical alternative is deluding themselves. The alternative was nothing. The park wasn’t going to get anything substantial in 2026, someone in the company pushed for them to get scrappy and throw the park a bone, and now they’re getting something. If you asked me, complaining about this is just signaling to the company that no one should stick their neck out for the park anymore.

Absolutely this.

Edit: Ryan Eldridge sums it up perfectly in the podcast at around 46:55:

Since Ryan E has already said they're looking at this revamp of the north end of the Boardwalk to be on-going thru the spring and maybe be done (phase 1 2026) by June, I don't think we should assume RC, Swashbuckler, or other rides open right away. Re-theming RC wouldn't take that long, so it's totally possible they do that this spring and it is part of the timeline they've accommodated. Listening to Ryan recently, it doesn't sound like they're going to roll out things just to have them open. I'd err on the side that says the new flats and Boardwalk work will open when it's done, not when it's technically possible and leaving punch-list stuff and painting/theming for next winter. But I guess we'll just have to watch and see what their plan is exactly. I'd rather they get it done then open vs partial openings. It's "new" stuff, so it's not like they've taken these additions away from us.

I wouldn’t say this is true. Green Lantern was awful and I think even with Ka’s removal that the park is in a better spot lineup wise now that it’s gone.

I don’t mind Rajin Cajun, I mind 20 year old scrap metal with no work done to it (heavy emphasis on the second part) finding a permanent home in a park that’s been infamous for old and poorly maintained rides.

I’ll take back everything I’m saying if they can actually give the ride a proper restoration.

The difference is that Green Lantern sucked. Ragin’ Cajun is actually a fun family ride. I rode RC on its last day at SFA and didn’t observe any issues with the ride’s age that couldn’t be easily resolved with minor maintenance.

Lol it's exactly like confronting a crypto bro and getting accused of fudding (spreading Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt). I get that Eldredge has a hard job, but it's his job. The park fucked up during his tenure. The onus should not be on the public to forget about those fuckups or keep their thoughts to themselves to make his job easier.

Guess it varies for each person. Colin from Coliwood Studios rode it on the final day, and said that the ride wouldn’t be ideal for relocation unless serious restoration went into it, based on his rides on it.

No, the onus is on the current management to deliver the best experience they can with the hand they were dealt. All signs I’ve seen suggest that that management — ranging from park manager Michael Fehnel up to CEO John Reilly, neither of whom were involved with the 2025 ride removals or the park’s other missteps over the years — is doing the best they can with what they have.

I understand that you would prefer “nothing” to Ragin’ Cajun, but I really doubt most of the park’s guests would agree. If you’re John Reilly, or Michael Fehnel, or anyone else that’s been tasked with cleaning up the mess left at SFGAdv by pre-merger Six Flags mismanagement (or debatably, even post-merger missteps under Richard Zimmerman), how could you not want to give the park one more good, enjoyable ride if that option is on the table? It feels like a layup.

I’d seen a comment in one of these threads that suggested Ragin Cajun wouldn’t even need a permit because it’s not a permanent structure. Not sure if that’s true but even if it isn’t, it’s something they could remove rather easily or refurbish easily (most likely) because of Zamperla having operations in NJ. I don’t see why people are upset about actual additions to the park. There’s no chance you can convince most people “nothing” would be better

I would think a foundation permit (concrete slab) and an electrical permit would be required.

I said it previously but I really have to emphasize this for anyone who is disappointed with RC coming here….

RC is another rollercoaster my younger kids can go on.

I used to love going to theme parks but once I had kids whom have varying ages, making a trip to a place like GAdv is tough. Families need way more options from young to pre teen.
RC and the additional flat rides in the area will draw more families into the park.

This is a massive win for the park. I’m sorry it doesn’t fit everyone’s standards but as a father of 3 kids all under 13, this is huge.

I will always share in people’s disappointment when the park does something it shouldn’t. But this isn’t one of those occasions.

ok, I wonder what the 5 rides are?

my guesses:
1, ragin cajun
2, the flying scooters
3, that new ride from six flags america that only operated for a year
4, a drop tower themed to high striker
5, a relocated swlashbuckler
That drop tower from in the survey would be a great surprise if we got this for 2026. I wonder if they would have enough time to build all of this for 2026.
