The “we’ve never created a ride like this before” bit is amusing.

You mean the new ride that:
-is named after a defunct coaster
-is the 4th B&M in the park
-is a smaller version of one of those said B&Ms in the park
-has 2 lift hills
-uses theming to “immerse” you
-held a poll for its name

That ride? That ride is unlike anything you’ve done before?
A red coaster behind the Festhaus. That’s unlike anything that’s been done! 😂

I was pretty low on this ride until I rode Dragonflier in August. If it’s more fun than that ride it may very well be something I try to get on each visit. I guess it’s nice to use “Big Bad Wolf” in routine conversation about the park again? Still a strange look for the park honestly.

Has anyone on here been on Phoenix Rising? I’ve heard it’s one of those “more fun than you expect” types of rides so that makes me hopeful for this thing. I mean my 2025 new B&M interest will be a bit more “green” that’s for sure.
I've been on Phoenix Rising, but the only ride I've gotten so far was in the middle, so not exactly the best row to judge a ride on. It was fairly fun though, and those last couple of turns had a bit more intensity than I was expecting, but not exactly to the extent I've heard other people claim. I'd have to ride it in the very back to get my full thoughts on it, though.

After workshopping it in Reddit comments, I've arrived on Med Mid Wolf. Med being short for medium size, and Mid being what the kids say for something that isn't very good or bad.

Actually, Mid Mid Wolf rolls off the tongue better.

I am still thankful that this fills the 42" minimum attraction role, but they've been giving us mid for so many years, falling short on either ride experience or presentation.

Since it's for the kinda for the kiddos, lets go with "Li'l Mid Wolf"

I can see this ride being close to as fun as InvadR. It's going to be tough to tell if it's a ride I ride on every visit until I finally get on it. If it provides a good thrill and the line isn't abysmal each visit then I can see it joining the usual round on a loop pretty easily. I look forward to all those swooping turns. I definitely could see it being more likely to jump on than DarKoaster but that's mostly because I'm never trying to burn like 25% of my visit to the park that day away in that line.

I laid out some of my thoughts here.

I fully expect most normal people to hear The Big Bad Wolf and the three names the park originally proposed and prefer The Big Bad Wolf. It's just a better coaster name in a bubble in my opinion—and I fully expect the masses to agree. That said, that's a condemnation of the park's horrible names, not naming the coaster something unique.

Also, just broadly, I don't believe that popularity contests should ever name coasters and I believe a competent, stable, grounded theme park operator should see the issues with that approach right off the bat. Great art is rarely the result of a democratic process. This goes back to some of the theme park philosophy I laid out here a while back. Guests aren't the experts on their own experiences or preferences.
" Guests aren't the experts on their own experiences or preferences" I seriously don't understand this take. Somebody else is supposed to tell me my preference?!?!?

No, my thesis is that the average guest often does not understand why they enjoy the experiences they do in theme parks (and, frankly, this could probably be extrapolated to many other forms of entertainment as well).

If you took a bunch of people who enjoy movies and had them develop a movie based on voting for each choice they arrive at along the way, that movie would almost certainly be horrible and those same individuals, had they not been directly involved in its creation, would have almost certainly hated the end product (and, honestly, most of them would probably dedest the outcome despite their direct input).

Similarly, if you took one random dude who likes movies, asked him to describe in excruciating detail what exactly he likes about said movies, and fashioned a film molded precisely to match solely his expressly stated preferences, I theorize that it would be, at best, a tossup whether or not that guy would like the product. And even in the event that that one guy happened to, I theorize that the masses almost certainly would not.

My case is that theme parks are an art form and very few people possess the skill, experience, and vision to analyze and understand—let alone produce—great art.

And for the record, I am not asserting that I do possess this skill, experience, and/or vision—but I am confident that the broad customer base does not and, it seems to me that the metrics, algorithms, and financial analysts who have taken over much of this industry certainly do not either. We need visionary creatives back at the wheel to bring the artistry and magic back to our parks. Until then, we're all engaged in a race to the bottom.

I mentioned to a friend about BGW's name choice for this coaster, and their response was, "oh, that's weird, why would they do that?" At this point it's not even about coming up with a good name. It's just so dumb to "remake" a coaster that's already been done before. Like, this isn't the same as BBW. It might be the same concept, but it's not the same thing. It's not even on the same plot of land. Sure, Big Bad Wolf is a cool name. But it's not the name of this new attraction. The Big Bad Wolf was removed from the park in 2009. Sorry Busch Gardens, not following your logic at all. Maybe I'm just too narrow-minded to understand.

Big Bad 2 is honestly better at this point. We just need a name. Even ChatGPT agrees today.
