Not that I’m a huge conspiracy theorist and I don’t care enough to actually investigate this…but has anybody checked to see if all the social posts they quoted demanding it just be “Big Bad Wolf” are even real?
I thought the same thing. I saw a comment on one of the social platforms saying that his account was in it though, so I’d assume it’s real.

I'm sincerely confused why reusing the old name is doomsday type stuff...

Comparison to the other, this one, that ones better .... I don't understand 😔

No one is saying it's "doomsday stuff." Lots of us just think it's a really, really bad decision.

I don't think anyone is under any delusions regarding this being some ride-ending event or whatever.

Oh man, Nora"s going to be a mess when she hears this. she was on here before my time but in reading her past posts and her heartfelt story I don't think she would stand for this at all.
This is as bad as when Kings Island renamed Top Gun to the Bat, but at least that was still a swinging Arrow, Never mind the fact that Top Gun was an exact copy of Vortex in Canada and that too was in a different location to the original. Other than Drachen Fire's station they should have thrown in something else from that ride as well. at the very least put a dragon statue in the proposed fountain in the village.

I prefer WölfsReign, and that was my least favorite of the three. I hate that now when people talk about the big bad wolf you have to specify which one.🤦‍♂️ Par for the course, I guess
I'm a little relieved they didn't use one of the other names. None of em really felt like they made a proper connection to the original story. When I refer to this ride it'll probably go something along the lines of, "Hey guys you wanna go ride Wolf's Revenge?" Could be worse

Why not make it the Big Bad Wolf's kid since it's a family coaster. Maybe BBW II instead of Revenge.

I used to go to Busch Gardens all the time. Hell, it's the entire point of my youtube channel. But at this point, I haven't been since July. And that's for exactly this reason - Busch Gardens is simply awful at park ops. They have no clue what their fans want, they choose the worst option every time, and their operations are terrible. At this point, Disney World is better at operations and knowing what fans want - and that says a lot.
This is a really stupid choice by them, and I know they'll continue to get a ton of backlash for it (at least from us thoosies) for as long as they continue to call it this. As much as I hate to say this, this has brought my enthusiasm for this ride down a lot.

Ok ok ok. Hear me out (and I beg of you BGW please be reading this).

Flip the sizing of the tags. Make it read:
The Big Bad Wolf:
———————————
The Wolf’s Revenge

I know it doesn’t fix the issue with the name fully but it allows us to at lease refer to it as Wolf’s Revenge rather than BBW. The expense of changing this formatting is likely cheaper than renaming it tbh if anything is printed yet.

I know I said it in jest a few weeks ago but with that name now in place they should really redo the story of everything in Oktoberfest. And here’s how I would weave real history into the fictional. Prior to Oktoberfest ever happening Ludwig Karl August von Pfalz-Birkenfeld-Zweibrücken (the real Ludwig from Oktoberfests origins) had a cousin: Ludwig von Pfalz-Birkenfeld-Wolfschtein. They both fell madly in love with Princess Augusta Wilhelmine of Hesse-Darmstadt. When Ludwig Wolfschtein was spurned, he moved out to the foot hills of the Alps, just across Lake Constance to call himself King of what we now know as Liechtenstein. Over the years he has known to use his wolf pack to terrorize the people of Barvaria every Oktoberfest (OG BBW). Soon after his death the attacks stoped (BBW removal) and the people felt free to explore his castle (CoDK) and even venture into the Black Forrest (VBolt). Yet his spirit remained forever dooming anyone who went on those explorations. One faithful day, Mad King Ludwig’s mother banished his spirit, or so she thought (CoDK removal). Unknowingly she split his spirit in two, the anger and the feral. The Anger took to the Alps to protect his once beloved castle to use the weather to forever keep those who dare come (DarKoaster). The feral found what remains of his beloved wolf pack, inhabiting one of the wolves to go back to town and once again terrorize the town of Hesse-Darmstadt (TWR).

To do even more, because all 3 coasters are on the edges and go out of Oktoberfest area, make the lore in the fest that the oddities only happen when you venture outside the festival in small numbers. Mad King Ludwig is not strong enough to come into the festival. But every year (HOS) during the festival, his rage is strong enough to manifest him in the flesh and stronger than ever, so he takes over Oktoberfest to terrorize the visitors when the sun goes down.

I've decided I'll be okay with this as long as BGW and local media market it as a successor, and not the return of BBW. Sharing a name sucks, but I honestly don't think this is even the worst thing park management has done since I've been paying attention. Trashing Pantheon's original theming and entrance plan, throwing together DarKoaster haphazardly, and (personally) buying 3 coasters with max height requirements in a row are all much worse.

I just don't think THIS is the straw that broke the camel's back for me. It's more unfortunate than outrageous.

Busch could call it the Wolfshitter, and you’re still going to go the park and ride it anyways, and ride it every single time you go.
I wouldn't go that far. Even if it's true, this kind of thinking kind of let's parks do whatever they want. There comes a certain point where BGW needs to know that their fans aren't happy. Whether or not this incident is that point for you is gonna vary from person to person

I really like this idea. It's a clever solution that doesn't require BGW to really backtrack at all, but still provides the new coaster with a semi-independent identity. Turning the "The Big Bad Wolf" into a prefix and using "The Wolf's Revenge" as the actual coaster name goes a long way to fixing the most widely-held objections.

Thanks - and credit to the multitude of posters who were saying either drop the prefix or they liked just the tag. And sometimes the simple solution is the elegant one.

Plus it is nice for the whole campaign leadup that it's in there without it being the forefront of the new coaster. Then over time you can drop the "BBW" front tag and have just "The Wolf's Revenge" and people would ID it properly.
