As easy as it is to fault Busch for doing this, it’s evident that there was a large enough pushback for them to scrap the vote and greenlight the name. It’s certainly the laziest option, but the average guest is more likely to view it as a homage than corporate recycling. I’ve already had people close to me saying they love the name, so if it’s a hit with most park-goers, it is what it is.

I love their half-hearted explanation of why they scrapped the original names:
The ride's name came to life when our fans cast over 30,000 votes in a naming contest, sharing their own thoughts on what the name should be. We chose The Big Bad Wolf: The Wolf's Revenge to build upon a beloved attraction in our park's history.

Honestly, very stoked about this. BBW was my first coaster as a kid. It scared the crap out of me, and in fact, it took me close to a decade before I got over my fear of roller coasters. I never got to ride it again because they closed it the summer before I got over my fear.

But I can’t help but think about future generations (like my own child) who will be able to ride in a few years time as their first coaster. I’m excited for the memories they’ll get to make on this ride. And frankly, I think it’s cool as hell for those memories to have some small connection to the memories I made as a kid at a place that I love because it shares a name.

On a side note (maybe this will get me kicked off the forum)…I’ve looked back on old POV videos of BBW over years and thought, “…that’s it?” Granted, watching the POV is NOT the same as actually riding it. But the ride seems much, much more tame and mundane than memory and nostalgia make it out to be.

I really don’t care about the “legacy of the original ride” and think this concern about naming it the same thing is way overblown. It was a ride, we all loved it, whatever. It wasn’t a person you’re disrespecting or something.

But it’s VERY funny and makes them look VERY stupid that they had this whole choose the name thing and just…didn’t use it

They took the same approach to how they did “The Legend Lives On” with LNM and applied it to BBW. One approach was to honor a revamped classic attraction. The other is a lazy attempt to throw a classic ride’s name in to a (seemingly) lesser attraction for the sake of making it easier to market.

Yikes.

I hope they get the ROI they're looking for to justify the theming budget and start heading that way with other existing rides
