If it wasn't for F.L.Y., I'd say all flying coasters are horrible. I actually saw an interview with Vekoma for their original flyer where they said it wasn't as much about the feeling of flying as about disorientation, and that's right on the money. B&M said fine, hold my beer. Unless Pipeline turns out 3x as good as I expect -- which is better than most expect -- I don't have a lot of confidence in B&M reinventing their designs. Of the flying coasters I've ridden there were only 2 short moments that felt like flying and they were glorious, and yet I still consider them the worst coasters I've ever ridden due to a complete disregard for producing the sensation they were invented to produce. The result is instead a gimmick.

F.L.Y. is not the ultimate embodiment of the new Vekoma flyers, just the ultimate themed one. It has limited space and is constantly curving. Reports are that it has a bit too much of positive Gs to be very rerideable, yet it leaves some desire for the greater intensity of the B&Ms. Positive Gs need to be used for achieving upwards momentum to use for airtime and inversions, with short curves mainly for spice, not to keep it within a small square of space.

That’s how I feel about Wing coasters. They’re gimmicky and lack luster on the best of circumstances. I’d rather a flying coaster over a wing coaster any day. Manta was really fun and the Bit Loop was very forceful. I’d love to ride F.L.Y. And see how that one compares though!

I'd definitely take a flyer over a wing coaster. Wing coasters are the gimmicky ones for sure. I've always been a huge fan of the pretzel loop element on flyers, and I love Tatsu. I've long considered flyers to be in a perfect in between place where I can enjoy riding it, but so can someone like my mom (when she used to ride coasters). I do wish B&M would incorporate the dive loop more into their flyer designs, but oh well.

Apple Maps relies on people continually tagging the right location for things. I can't recall perfectly, but if you start a location service thing in Grogan's, shut it off before it completes, then go somewhere else and reopen it, the now place will get tagged as where you were last.

Google Maps and Waze relies on users physically tagging things. So if you go into Grogans and tag it Festhaus, their program is smart enough to know that it's not Festhaus and overrides that due to all the tagging of it being Grogans from users.

If you want to have a lot of fun with Apple Maps, try tagging a location (like a park) as something else (like work), and over time you would see that spot just get marked as "work" on any Apple device you are tied to.
My work involves Google listing accuracy and that's not right. Google pins are set by profile owners and there are driving and walking pins that are set separately. A user can infer where a pin should be but it won't override that of a GBPM owners and Lat/Longs.

Interesting. Perhaps the proprietors of Grogan's were too many barrels into their own product one day...

no updates on this project?

Nope.

At this point, it seems unlikely that SEAS is tackling Festhaus Park for a 2024 debut though. Pantheon was well past this point on its journey through planning approval by this point in 2019. Right now, my gut says we may see something smaller in 2024 with "the big one" in 2025 for the park's 50th anniversary.

Who knows though. Maybe once work on DarKoaster completes, we'll suddenly see an explosion of activity in Festhaus Park and a flurry of progress in the public record. Anything could still happen at the moment.

unannounced projects or plans of Busch Gardens Williamsburg. I suggest keeping an eye on official announcements and news releases from the park to stay up-to-date on any future developments
If there’s one thing you should know:
Parkfans always ends up getting their hands on public filings that often show footer patterns, path directions, electrical work, and more. And then we usually speculate on who is making the attraction.

Edit:
This is also usually 2 or 3 years before they even break ground on the projects.

My “tin foil hat” with this project is because we know the boneyard might be involved, there’s a chance that the project could still be happening and we wouldn’t know much at first because clearing of the boneyard is happening first.

I'd say so. Seems like unless they are going to get moving real fast, real soon, it's doubtful for 2024.

I’m almost overwhelmed by the volume of new coasters at BGW in comparison to waiting for KD to replace Volcano. Waiting on the current indoor intamin, after the big intamin, waiting for the rumored Gwazi sibling. Not a bad setup really. The other VA park: “you will know nothing until the last possible minute. We will literally doop you with a quick PS expansion.”
