Oh GOD NO, we do not need a 4th coaster in Festa, the foot traffic back there will be unbearable. I hope the coordinates were mistyped. Please, put it anywhere but there. I know it seems dumb, but I’d rather another coaster be put back in FHP than a 4th coaster in Festa.

Yeah try that one again, that is not a correct conversion from DMS to DD.

Correctly inputting the coords puts this exactly where we have all been expecting and all the past documentation and work has pointed to as well as where this doc was originally used as a citation for, as others have already said.

Besides even if this form had Festa coords on it, I would start with thinking they put the wrong coordinates on the form rather than they made a decision to scrap all other work we have already been tracking on this ride and decided to suddenly shove it somewhere entirely different. I trust Zach's watchful eye over these projects more than I trust BGW's ability to accurately fill out documentation, if this moved to Festa we wouldn't be finding out through a public document. Especially not one posted forever ago that we have had access to for a long time and have previously used to cite the real location. All in all confused how the first step wasn't "check the coords again".

can anyone confirm whether or not work started as outlined in the permit

We would have expected to see building permits of some kind of it had.

I definitely think we're nearing the "do or die" time for 2024. We're already running well behind DarKoaster. Pantheon went public in mid-March I believe. When we get there, we will have to start seriously considering that this could have been delayed again.

From a purely "what is gained from a new ride" perspective, they realistically should delay this project. Between recently opening Pantheon and DK opening this year, there isn't much more of an attendance bang to be gained from another coaster, especially when they are still hitting good numbers. They may shift focus to a cheaper addition that can help reduce the crowding more efficiently, like a Mach Tower replacement flat / eatery or something else.

When we went on Sunday and rode the train, there was no visible evidence of any work in Festhaus Park. The only work we saw going on was utility work for the new storage / event building where the old greenhouses and landscape material area was (behind the black forest picnic area).

I wouldn’t be too shocked TBH. As far as we know DK is still. Between that and the removal of MT and DC I feel like it would be prudent to do a flat package or two first.

Without going into details that might comprise someone I have seen enough evidence that strongly supports that the project is being pushed back to serve as 50th anniversary event that I feel about 90% certain in stating that.

This is not what I wanted to read on my Friday morning. 😢 I’m ready for Drachen Fire to rise from the ashes. 🔥🐉

Apple Maps is weird lol
Apple Maps relies on people continually tagging the right location for things. I can't recall perfectly, but if you start a location service thing in Grogan's, shut it off before it completes, then go somewhere else and reopen it, the now place will get tagged as where you were last.

Google Maps and Waze relies on users physically tagging things. So if you go into Grogans and tag it Festhaus, their program is smart enough to know that it's not Festhaus and overrides that due to all the tagging of it being Grogans from users.

If you want to have a lot of fun with Apple Maps, try tagging a location (like a park) as something else (like work), and over time you would see that spot just get marked as "work" on any Apple device you are tied to.

Going back a bit - with the Apple maps coordinates issue being what it is, does anyone think there'd be any kind of permanent development on that plot?

Given it's location on the service road, I could see some relocation of BoH facilities there if it frees up space somewhere else for a larger development.

However, I don't think that'd have any influence to the FHP project unless whatever they're doing with the DF maintenance shed needs to be moved and it couldn't go in the new facility they're building over there.

Careful examination of the area from the train shows Boneyard still housing a fair amount, Nevermore intact, Witches intact. If they were seriously planning to start work relatively soon I believe that at least one if these three would not be the case.
