No offense but I'm extremely anti anything that diminishes the peaceful walk across the bridge or down the hill to the front.
No offense taken at all. In fact I'm pretty sympathetic to that point of view, and I think the idea's biggest liability is that it requires tree removal and noise in the one peaceful, truly beautiful area every single guest experiences twice during a day at the park.

Any ride in that stretch would have to be pretty "slim" to fit, and even then it would be subject to minimum tree clearances on either side of the track. It may be simply impossible to build through that area while maintaining enough natural beauty to avoid an "uh oh" outcome.

Fun to think about though. Maybe smarter minds than mine could contrive cost-effective means to make the concept work.

Speaking of additions to Ireland... May BGW never be forgiven for the placement of Finnegan's Flyer. Completely wrecked the bridge by overpowering it and propping it up on stilts breaks your immersion.

That said, a coaster that utilizes the land by the railroad tracks could be pretty neat vs tearing all those trees behind Corkscrew Hill (which it always will be to me).

For that land, they could build a future coaster station (something small of course) on the hillside access between Emerald Isle and Abbeystone, but imo I think Ireland gets pretty congested as is. There's open land opposite of First Aid, but that's pipeline easement territory, I think?

Not to further push this thread off topic, but I don't think many of you realize how unusable the land to the north of Ireland is. The similator building queue is a bridge built over the pond basically. Everything even further towards the parking lots and Route 60 is incredibly steep, hilly and wet. And, not in a way that I would deem good for creative purposes.

I honestly think it's a miracle at all AB placed the simulator on that plot in the first place. It's like building a big building over the valley between Oktoberfest and Rhinefeld. Busch Gardens atmosphere, imo, would be ruined even further if this entry area gets disturbed.

that's pretty much what I figured - I knew the area back there was hilly and the plot looked small to me as is so I doubted anything could go back there lol
also what's the program you're using in that screenshot?

So wild question is there any possibility that soil samples led them to scrap an RMC or other larger project as unsuitable fir the area?

Soil samples don’t really dictate projects outright, it basically says how many, how big, what type and how much is foundation work going to cost. They can build skyscrapers in the desert in an earthquake zone if they want to but someone will have to pay dearly to do so.

Yeah it get that my main thought process was could sampling have led to the ares closer to the Rhine being to unstable to cheaply build a big coaster with high forces. It was a question that someone posed to me and I didn't have the knowledge base to answer.

Is it possible that we could see Festhaus Park becoming part of an extended Oktoberfest?!? How long is the height waiver period? Would a drop tower or starflyer fit? Especially in the ravine area that was going to be utilized for Spire? The park seriously needs some more flats; we’ve lost both Mach Tower and Cradle from the lineup. Still hoping for Zach’s concept of the Glockenspiel (sp?).

A spinning wheel themed to Rumpelstiltskin actually!

My clock-themed concept was for Rhinefeld.

I do very much agree though—especially with a family attraction in Festhaus Park, something like my Spinnrad concept sounds great.

And may I add: RIP beautiful tree that stood in that area.

On-topic question for those who might know: How much tree removal will be carried out in the FHP/Boneyard area for construction of Elfengeist? Much of that layout space is cleared already, but not all.

There shouldn't be too many tree removals inside the railroad loop, but outside there will be a lot—especially if the park continues the trend of clear-cutting the attraction perimeter as they have for recent coasters.
