While I don't have any issue with what you are saying I personally find the level of skepticism and the way it's being expressed in relation to Unagi a little puzzling as he seems to have a fairly good track record on what he has said.

Brief summary BGW is extremely heavy handed when it comes to leaks which tends to leave those in the know with a justifiable paranoia to be protective of what they know and how. So short answer yes he knows something or at least strongly believes he does but you are likely bit going to get details for a while.

The industry as a whole is pretty leak averse due to how small it is and the close working relationship most companies have. Most often, information getting leaked to the public comes from outside sources(contractors and planning docs) or it's something that has been known to insiders for a while and any leak wouldn't be traceable back to a single person.

In regards to the shade getting thrown at insiders, I think thats a good thing. I see way too many people repeating garbage as fact and often times I either have to bite my tongue or just say "no" without elaborating. The fact that people are skeptical is a good thing and most of the time it comes from newer users. On the one hand an industry insider tag could help but could also be misleading and I for one wouldn't want one even though I occasionally drop bread crumbs as I wouldn't want every post I make to be interpreted that way.

Ultimately, even someone working in the industry can be wrong about something as plans change and everyone is susceptible to human error. As @Zachary said in a post over in the dragster thread recently, best just take it all as rumors; with my addendum being that as you get familiar with the users here you can take some with a bit less salt.

I would KILL to have a world record coaster, especially an RMC hybrid. I know it would result in a worse guest experience as Busch won’t hire anyone else to man it, but for the 1 ride I get it would be epic.

Since there's not much going on with this project currently I'm gonna take the convo back to the entrance to this area of the park. I used to hear a lot about people having trouble finding Drachen Fire. That is understandable in that the path is very narrow and most people don't feel the intuition to walk to the side of Das Festhaus like that.

I always thought that with any expansion back here they would need to add a landmark of some kind that's distinguishable in person, as well as on the park map. I always imagined a smaller version of something like the lighthouse at Islands of Adventure that you walk under to get in and out of the new Spain Hamlet preferably (Spain! Spain! Spain!). Even this is complicated since in order to put something at the immediate entrance of the path or hamlet, it would have to be right next to the corner of Das Festhaus. Removing or moving Der Autobahn wouldn't help all that much as you'd still be funneled towards the back of the park to get around verbolten's event building.

If this area is a new hamlet, I think it would NEED another entrance/exit to enhance traffic flow. A train stop, another sky ride linking to Festa Italia, or if they wanna get crazy… an Aerial Tramway that heads east across the water to a second park entrance.

Whatever this project/s is/are, I'm interested to see how they approach this problem.

I’d love to see a Norway hamlet.

Recent trends may lead an observer to expect a new ride addition to be just that: a new ride alone, with modest theming and nothing in the way of any new hamlet.

But hope springs eternal. Good fun to think about, if nothing else.

Back when Drachen Fire was there it was dead, people weren't used to going back there, and once they rode DF many people chose not to ride it again, at least not every visit. Since then the park has held numerous concerts and houses for HoS. People know how to get back there now. If the ride is visible (and it looks like it should be) and re-rideable then the issue of people finding it seems pretty moot to me.

They’d be able to find the coaster itself, but maybe not the entrance. The only time of year that area is regularly used is Howl-O-Scream. Outside of that, no one really thinks about going over that way.

I was in my teens in the 90’s. I found the entrance to Drakenfire when it open and never forgot how to get there again. I’m not a genius with my map skills. I think we need to give humans a little more credit than this.

Ok, so regulars going may remember where it is, and some may make the connection to DF and recall going that way (assuming they also generally know their way around) when that ride was open.

But given the public generally doesn't read or comprehend signage (regardless of where they are, park or otherwise), having some kind of visible waypoint to help with mental mapping and/or employees referencing when giving directions would help.


If only there was a certain large structure that's been a well-known park icon for decades close by...

But not the general public. Wait and see, but next year many people won't be able to find Darkoaster. The won't know it is inside of a building. If they can't see the track, then the ride does not exist.

I am amazed at how many people I know go to Disney and then complain because they can't find any rides. They complain that it is just a bunch of buildings. I then respond with "did you go in any of those building, because that is where the rides are located?"

I know I'm in the minority in saying this, but after being on 2 RMCs and not loving either, I'm less excited for this project if it is an RMC. I had 2 rides on Iron Gwazi recently. The first was tolerable. I was in row 3 on that ride. The 2nd ride was later in the day and I was in row 2. I walked off in pain. There are moments on both TT and IG I like, but the rest of the time I'm just trying not to get more sore.

IMO the issue is the seat/restraint design. They are 100% trying to avoid OTSR, but their solution is terrible. They just need to do some type of OTSR and be done with it.

The restraints while comfortable is the best they can do
It’s the minimum, and I know rmcs aren’t for everyone, hell my hatred for Jersey devil is intense, but this is the best they can do. I think the premier lapbar like fof and blsc would be nice on rmcs

Minus just hydraulic instead of the standard ratcheting—if you get any degree of room on those FoF clones that restraint *will* go down.
