If we were just talking about one ride in Festhaus Park, I would agree with you. That said, BGW is rapidly running out of cheap-to-reach expansion plots and some of the largest areas of currently-not-occupied-but-still-reasonably-guest-accessible land can be found in and around Festhaus Park. It's easy for me to imagine that a theoretical 2024 coaster could utilize Drachen Fire's station and then have the vast majority of its layout outside the railroad loop in the boneyard—retaining much or even all of Festhaus Park for future development.

Drachen Spire allowed ample room around it for many additional attractions and I assume 2024 will end up doing the same. At the current addition pace, I think we'd easily be within the decade when we can expect that land to be utilized. I agree that one more German coaster isn't a problem—but in two decades when there are three more German coasters, and four new German flat rides, that's a whole other story in my opinion.
That’s also 2/3+ of the coasters on the same side of the park.

Parking lot coaster/tree loss be dammed, they need to utilize Ireland/Killarney for a coaster.

Noooo. They already butchered poor Killarney with Finnegan's Flyer. With the theming they did on Pantheon a parking lot coaster would be just that. Plus it would distract from the outdoor entertainment. You used to be able to get a beer in Ireland and relax without all that commotion. Now we're subjected to Finnegan's screaming, hissing and farting.

I think the unanswered question right now is why two balloons during the test was it because they were debating between two rides for 2024 and wanted the data for both before deciding or is one a 2025 project. If the latter I could see a very compelling case for the ride and a new Hamlet for the 50th.

My fear is that the back portion of Wild Reserve by the birds might be a target for one built out towards the backstage area. That may seem more attractive then building into guest parking.

I hope when this insane coaster binge ends in 2024/2025 they take a break. Replace the missing flats. New indoor dining or build out an area like around pantheon. Or better yet put in an actually good ride where BfE was located. A fun new dark ride there would be far superior to a coaster. You could redo or expand the current infrastructure if needed, but that's my biggest hope after these coasters.

Fair points all, I can't help but agree. 🙂

Putting a coaster out in the boneyard (from DF station) while leaving Festhaus Park open for now is probably the smartest thing the park can do, if they really want to reincorporate that area of the property into guest-facing footprint over time.

Maybe the two balloons were comparing the proposed height of 2024 to the original proposed height of Spire? If the park ends up being able to use the original height waiver from Spire for this project, maybe they need something in their back pocket showing it's less of an impact than the original proposal if anyone (Kingsmill) asks.

Neither of the balloons were above 300 ft though.

Im putting my money on this..

60% Ground up RMC

25% Intamin Mega

10% Intamin Looper

5% B&M Surf or Wing

The RMC could be the best outcome for the park as having the Tallest and Fastest Hybrid Coaster in the world world. Having that marketability alone and knowing how big of a success the Iron Gwazi was shows how much potential the park has. Not to mention they have a blank slate and can go wild with this ride.

An Intamin Mega coaster (think Kondaa). This will have pops of ejector and can differentiate itself from Apollo’s Chariot well enough.

The Intamin looper can fill another void the park has. A true looping coaster. The only coaster with multiple (not repeating) inversions is Alpengiest and having more variety can even out the coaster lineup. They can have it be very similar to Drachen Fire and bring back the old school BGW fans.

Seaworld is still working with B&M and I could see them building a Surf or Wing coaster model here. Launch or lift hill for but I would love to see a traditional roller coaster without a launch. Four coasters in a row with a launch is great but I would love to see a lift hill back in that section of the park. Regardless, we are in for a treat IF this is a coaster. With the amount of space the park has, I would say that they have the potential to build the best coaster in the world.

Ngl it would be pretty cool to see Alpengeist Griffon and an RMC lift all overlapping each other at certain points in the skyline
If you think about it, the steel box structure lift that Alpengeist and RMC's have is very similar, profile-wise, just one with the track inside the box and the other on top.
We really don't know that though. From the photos and reports I've gotten, some of those balloons were moving around a lot.
If the balloons were moving locations within FHP it makes me think they are comparing different peak heights at different views of the skyline.
