Ugh. Reverse POVs on this thing aren't a good look. That bounce is super evident throughout the course. I'm not seeing any huge jolts like that one turn on Iron Menace so it's probably "fine"... just also definitely suboptimal.

I do agree that it looks like it runs faster than I was expecting though! Love to see that. I'd prefer a bit of a bouncy ride to a completely forceless one.
Is that sparking I see towards the end? Is that normal? I don’t think I’ve ever noticed a steel coaster making sparks before…

@Zachary nailed it. People exposed to B&M's most of their lives can tell, just from the POV, that Rapterra rides like many B&M's do after about 5-7 years of uninterrupted use, not when brand new typically. It's not rough, but there's a lot of "oscillation segments" as I like to call them, and its apparently treated like a new feature, as if B&M and parks were like, "hey, what's a steel roller coaster without a bit of shake to keep you awake?"

It's not good, it's not the worst thing, but most importantly, other manufacturers are adding new rides SANS the rattle, and B&M was the leader in this, and that fact alone makes every new B&M project approached in my mind with a bit of skepticism and lowered-expectations, something I never once had to worry about with B&M until about 2019 till now.

Hearing and seeing this, I'm excited but, inside, I'm like "Damn- with all the tech and knowledge we have now, how hard is it to do a smooth coaster like this in 2025?"

Everything else feels like excuses to some degree. 🫤

PS: I do think the train tolerances are 98.7% to blame in most cases.

I really like what I've seen of Rapterra so far. B&M may no longer be the Cadillac of smoothness in the coaster world, but nothing in these videos sticks out to me as being overly uncomfortable or intolerable. Even the bouncy looking reverse POV appears to have limited head jolting.

The forward facing POVs all look great. A no-nonsense launch, a nice starting setup with the arches, and some really well thought out inversions - I particularly dig the idea of the final inline twist element transitioning directly into a banked turn routing back to the station.

Excited to see everyone's opinions over the next couple of weeks (and beyond). I believe KD has a winner on their hands here.

From KDs insta they did a really good job making it look like igneous rock (cooled lava) holy

The choice not to paint Flight of Fear's building severely hurts this sight line. Some "Go Away Green" on the lower portion and some "Be Gone Blue" on the upper half would have done wonders. Shame too because the rockwork and temple structure look absolutely incredible. Hopefully they've planted trees strategically and this view will look far better a few years from now!

That was my reaction too. On the updated map, they show the whole building painted a tan/brown color. I wonder if that was just an artistic choice for the map or if there are plans to paint the building once Rapterra construction is officially considered done (or if it was a plan that got shelved). Green, blue, or brown along with some strategic planting would go a long way to hide that building.

It does look like they've planted a lot of bamboo in the ride area, and that stuff grows like weeds, so hopefully that whole area will start to look a lot more lush in just a few years.

This. I have watched just about all of the reverse POVs so far numerous times, and I try to follow the wheel carrier. On the launch you can clearly see the carrier go up and down, but thats no secret since the first launch video came out a few months ago. The rest of the ride, the carrier seems to ride pretty true. The bouncing really appears to be slop in the design of the train on this one. It could also be compounded by the fact that the camera is mounted to the seat in front of the rider, so the "bounce" would *look* more pronounced.

What it comes down to is this: The GP is going to eat this thing up. It will be a massive people pleaser, aside from the tryhards who bitch about it not being Volcano

Haven’t edited my footage yet from today but I’m happy with the ride. They planted a lot of stuff so it’ll grow up over the years.

Other stuff…FoF is not getting rethemed inside. Pantherian was blocked off today. The lake is full again. The jeeps are already demolished. Dominator looks great with new paint.
