At least the theming in the research station looks good. Wish the station was more themed like this and less pre fabricated metal shed.
As has been said before, the "metal shed" look is supposed to resemble the temporary infrastructure surrounding a dig site. Your opinion is totally valid, just saying that whether we like it or not, it was at least intentional.

I will say I love the temple look on the front wall of the station (from pictures, haven't seen in-person yet). It really makes it look they built the roof directly over an uncovered temple, to protect it from the elements as they study it. Definitely sells the "dig-site" feel for me more than it had previously.

I understand it is supposed to look like an active dig site, and I love the sculptures inside. My complaint has more to do with the outside structure and how out of place it looks from afar. If they could do something to decorate the singular exterior wall, I think that would go a long way. Kind of wish the Dispatch booth was two sided and was visible from the outside so that the exterior wall was just a continuing of the beautiful facade. I haven't been yet in person so take this with a grain of salt., Overall, I feel like a little more exterior station theming and shade in the queue line could be the cherry on top to this amazingly themed regional amusement park ride in a time when we are getting coasters like Pantheon and Emperor which have little to no cohesive story telling or theming. See the difference compared to Mandrill Mayhem below. I know these themes are different, i.e. Jumanji vs an active dig site, but look below how well the metal station (which is very much the same bare boned Prefabricated Metal Shed) looks from both inside and outside. It Continues the storytelling aspect. I wish there was at least some vines or something on the exterior of Rapterra and the shed was painted to blend with the area.

Re: station theme -

are all Jungle X stations supposed to be the dig site for their temple? If so, it works IMO.

If not, it’s a Miss.

Yep, they are. Tumbili’s station is a tarped area that says “Base Alpha” or something like that, and the actual temple is the maintenance building. Reptilian’s station is labeled “Temple Research Station” on the official Jungle X map while the exit cave is what’s labeled as the actual temple. The only exception is Arachnidia which doesn’t have a station so I think the ride is the actual temple.

Not sure what they’ll do with Pantherian but based on the industrial structure of the station building I wouldn’t be surprised if they give it a similar explanation as Rapterra’s.

Then I like it. Hopefully they can do something with Arachnidia. I just like that it fits the theme it seems they set of the ride is the temple and the station is the dig site.

*raises hand to side with @LakeCharlesGuy*

My first thought seeing the queue was "good lord, where's the shade?!" On busy summer days it will literally be a heat stroke extravaganza out there. Hopefully coverings, misting fans, etc are coming. I know it took them a while with Tumbili.
Yeah, KD could be brutal back in the “concrete desert” era…July would be rough w/o shade!

I know it wasn't until the mid-summer season that Dorney built their queue shade for Iron Menace, even though there were renderings of small shade structures from the start. I would hope it's similar here, that we'll get some added shade, but with everything else going on, it wasn't a priority for the March opening.

I talked with KD about the queue yesterday. They planted a lot of stuff but it’ll take years for it to overtake that area and provide decent shade. Until then it’s going to be hot. There was only one fan in the entire queue line

From what numerous folks attending noted (i liked your video by the way), KD is going to be adding some form of shade to the queue

What an odd reply!

You can't tell me I'm wrong.
Not an odd reply at all looking at your posts from the past week

Where people told that, specifically, some sort of shade structures were coming? Not doubting you, but a link would be super helpful.

If KD was telling media that, that's good enough for me. I'll look forward to seeing them in the weeks ahead.

Stay on topic, please. We're talking about Rapterra and how Kings Dominion didn't bother to provide any shading in the queue. This isn't a place for you to pout about my posts.

I feel bad for all of the guests who will faint in line. I feel even worse for the underpaid staff who will have to push them in wheelchairs up to the medical office.
If youre passing out in the heat and or cant handle the heat that well then thats on you. Don't go in the summer. Stay hydrated and eat. Wear a hat, use a spray fan ect. Par for the course of summer days
