They have painted it some more, all the symbols are painted dark now and there’s even some of that greenish mossy color and cracks on the walls now. Also the Jungle X letters that spell pantherian have been put up over the entrance.

As for the actual plaza or under the lift it seems unchanged from Wednesday.

Also, this will be my last update until the 29th or 30th as I will be out of town until then, I know I can’t be the only one coming here 3-4 times a week so someone better post pictures, they’re probably gonna install the panther statues in the next few days I would presume.

Darn, your updates have been the only thing keeping me sane about this project lately 😂

But I’m genuinely so excited we’re seeing more theming work, especially that’s visible to the general public, after it was rather stagnant for so long. Another good sign!

One more thing to add, this poster on the jungle x bathrooms shows the arch with a more intricate design, perhaps they will paint that on there? Only time will tell, though I do think the smaller panther statues are for the outer edges of the tunnel at the front, which is the same as it shows on here. The thing I wonder is if the eyes will light up, they seemed to emphasize every eye on here as lit up

The arch in that picture also shows it says "Pantherian," which they did not do on the actual arch. So I'd be taking the poster with a grain of salt.
If you look closely at the ruins in @MysticClay 's post it actually does spell out Pantherian. I do wonder if they will paint it or otherwise modify it to increase the legibility or if it's meant to be an Easter egg

It’s actually in the jungle x letters like on the actual tunnel entrance, the thing is the jungle x letters are just blocky English letters with the negative space all fancy and some other fun design stuff in there. Back up and squint and you’ll see it IMG_5050.jpeg

Not gonna lie, I don't like the Pantherian name being written in that language- at least not on that entryway, done that way. Think I'd rather they had just done an enlarged wordmark (not the full logo) of the name instead of that.

Also, my immediate first thought for this poster artwork 'arch', was that it looks a decent bit like the park-facing side of the station structure...

Maybe this will get a small capstone "PANTHERIAN" wordmark at the top, and some panther column statues on each side?

Is corporate even aware that all this work probably won’t bring anyone new to the ride than it already has? Or do they think the retheme will bring tons of people in just to ride Pantherian?

If it had opened alongside Rapterra there's good reason to believe that the retheme would have boosted ridership—potentially substantially.

I think you’re overestimating how closely most people pay attention to this sort of thing. For example, when Medusa at Great Adventure was rethemed to Bizarro, I overheard plenty of people saying things like “I remember when Medusa used to be over here.” For a more current example, I’ve definitely seen people talking about Cedar Point and saying that “they tore Top Thrill Dragster down and replaced it with Top Thrill 2.”

Sometimes a retheme does bring in higher ridership from those who don’t realize it’s not a brand new ride. Plenty will know it’s the same, but just as many won’t.

Now that you’re stoked about the reopen I’d like to share a gentle roast:

CBC, the kind of guy who’s gen Z but hasn’t learned the meaning of “let em cook”.

@CoasterBroCam angry react and I’ll delete

Do you guys think they’ll push real hard to get it open when the park reopens Monday after being closed today and tomorrow?
I was wondering if this could delay the project. If they don’t have adequate water they might not be able to have all necessary employees on site. Two days isn’t going to kill us after over nearly three months, though!

The only benefit they get from this closure is that if there’s anything that’s like “we can fix this during this little downtime”, they probably will. Unfortunately that likely does not include recommissioning a ride. It’s more likely to be cosmetic or minor upgrades to existing stuff, such as infrastructure.
