Still not sure what the generally accepted terminology is when referring to the layout of Tumbili so bear with me:

Rode once yesterday, on the front car (facing backwards initially and goes up the lift first) on the far side of the ride (where you follow the queue to the left of the building to get there).

We only got two full flips, not consecutively, but I found them to be both pretty forceful and still quite smooth and comfortable. Everyone's milage is going to vary on this thing but we really enjoyed it. I'm interested to see what it's like on other seats.

who is everyones favorite jungle x character?

diesel seems pretty cool, wish he was a real guy so we could hang out. we could ride anaconda, maybe eat some chicken shack, play the basketball game. it would be sweet. he builds like planes and shit right? maybe he could build a flying coaster? or perhaps dueling b&,m giga coasters that replace i305 called giraffe racers, now that wpi;d be rad! Now whos with me !

I know diesel (my friend) would be! *crowd starts chanting* "DIESEL! DIESEL! DIESEL!"

I was out at KD last weekend again and was impressed that they still keep adding more and more details to the area:

-Tumbili now has design stickers on the trains that look surprisingly 3D. (we couldn't tell for sure that they are completely flat until we got into the loading area)
-They put additional covers up over the tumbily queue and loading area to protect from sun/rain. Has a very jungle camp kinda look with how they blow around in the wind.
-They added "Whey Foundation" theming on the Tumbili ride operator building, that I don't believe has been there the previous week.
-the flat black areas on the tumbili maintenence building had some painting added to make the transition of the structured stone wall area transition better to the black area. They also painted a monkey statue on one of the black areas.
-There are additional props up all over the queue area and in the X-pedition area in general. (pieces of ruins, random boxes and carts with items, etc
-The plane has been painted

They also added the grass roofing to the reptilian station

Wow, that's a fantastic article. I love the in-depth look at the area's past as well as what Jungle X-Pedition means for the park, Cedar Fair, and the industry overall. If this area is successful, it really could change the game for KD, if not for regional theme parks as a whole.

Tumbili was ostensibly down this afternoon. Anyone know when the big sign is going up? I can’t wait to see how that looks. I also I’m starting to like Tumbilis placement in the skyline a lot more it seems like it’s tucked over in the corner perfectly or something…….now how does it like in a few years? We will see….

Im not sure if the big sign is still happening

I’d love it if they put some signs in the Arachnidia queue showing the same “blueprints” and sketches that they released online when they announced the retheme. The concept of Arachnidia being some ancient mechanical contraption is brilliant, but I don’t think that’s conveyed with the theming right now. Right now, it feels like the theme is just “spider.” That’s nice, but the story they developed for the ride is far more compelling than just that.

From FB the first hints about the new show.

Nice to see something more concrete for the 2022 entertainment offerings. Usually, KD has the show schedules out about now. Course, most shows now only run from from Memorial Day Weekend/Mid-June till Mid-August/Labor Day Weekend. Maybe the park is still finalizing the summer show schedules. I thought Windish is also responsible for a Country/Bluegrass show on the Grove stage this summer.

Sadly, I am hearing rumors that the KD theater will be dark this summer. No idea if anything is coming to the I-street stage or anything for the Peanuts showplace. Anyone heard anything on the grapevine?

Since they’re not done adding theming around JX, do y’all think they are gonna add the rest of the theming around the sign and the bamboo covers outside of outposts?

Not sure about Outpost Cafe, but I really hope they add more to the entry arch than there is now. It looks way better in the concept art than it does in person. Those neat little hut facades, banners, and flags are all entirely missing in the real thing, and those elements all scream “adventure” way more than the weird circular shield things they actually installed. The real life entryway does have that incredible in-universe hand-drawn map, but other than that, the circular shield things, and a few shovels and tools mounted on a wall, that’s all we ended up getting.

Lots of new updates to Jungle X-Pedition this weekend! Each temple has signs explaining their backstories, and there are also Whey Foundation trash cans and other new signage throughout the area.

Absolutely LOVE those updates. The signs explaining the lore of each attraction are exactly what the area needed. I also adore the themed trash cans - something I had long hoped the land would get, but didn't expect. KD continues to raise the bar higher and higher.

Another recent addition (at least to me) are the sun awnings placed outside of Outpost Cafe. -And if you look close, each of them have slightly different colors/patterns; where I would have figured it would be easier to manufacture both the same, but they seemed to go the extra step in making each unique.

So with these additions, hopefully we'll see the restaurant open in the coming weeks, prior to Memorial Day.
