I don't understand why 16 thrill flat rides isn't enough. Invest the space and money into a better ride instead of just half assing stuff.

I don’t understand being against someone’s opinion that there’s a lot of great flats out there that a park doesn’t have that they would like to see be installed.

^there seems to be a lot of enthusiasts out there that are like "HUGE EXTREME COASTERS CONSTANTLY BY RMC/INTAMIN" and if they don't receive that then it's a lame disappointment. I've taken on the approach that anything that adds "value" or "fun" to a park to me is a something to be happy about when there's a lot of parks out there that almost never receive capital investment. Looking at the bottom half of the Cedar Fair chain which I am glad KD seems to be ahead of.

Sorry for the double post, but this.

Even though KD hasn’t received as many major attraction investments as other Cedar Fair parks, other than Carowinds I can’t think of a park in the chain that has focused as heavily or extensively, or for as long, on beautifying the park and improving the quality of the park experience as KD. Even disregarding changes in rides over the years, Kings Dominion today is not the same park as Kings Dominion 10 years ago. I’m so proud of the work the park has invested in improving the overall experience, and I hope more than anything else that Volcano’s replacement continues that trend.

I agree with that the park is much more pleasant now than it was back in say 2006. Cedar Fair also added Dominator, Intimidator 305, and Twisted Timbers, along with Delirium which all 4 of those rides are great. They've also done huge work for Planet Snoopy and improving Soak City (minus Tornados removal). I imagine they'll do something nice with Safari Village now that they have this new opportunity.

Not to go too far off topic, but I did find a case where KD used "mid-Atlantic" this season at: Join us March 30th as we kick off our 2019 season in style! Enjoy the return of your favorite coasters including Twisted Timbers, our new hybrid roller coaster and the first of its kind in the mid-Atlantic.

And that's how they marketed Intimidator 305 back in 2010: Kings Dominion introduces tallest coaster in Mid-Atlantic (even though Kingda Ka at 456' is in NJ)

This’ll probably be moved to its own thread (The Discussion of the Term “Mid-Atlantic” sounds good to me?), but mid-Atlantic is also used a lot for Haunt promotions from what I can remember.

I feel like your "personal hell" would be living close to Canada's Wonderland.
I'd gladly trade it all for Canada's Wonderland to be my home park. I'd shut up about Verbolten being an unworthy replacement for the Big Bad Wolf I never got to ride, if I had the next-best-thing-and-maybe-better-now Vortex to ride all I wanted. Pizza Pizza is also in the upper tier of amusement park pizza.

You know what is KD is severely lacking that Caro has? A mini golf course and laser maze.
Why do those (and go-karts) still exist in admission-ticketed amusement parks? That's what family amusement centers are for.

Nice job ignoring the difference between a solid Gerst infinity and a bunch of carnival rides.
