RE: 315' Height Waiver: Coaster? Tower? New Hamlet? Madrid?

Wow, new pieces of information are coming together quickly this time around! Do the utility markings seem to be isolated, or more spread out? I wonder what size area they marked, since that would be a good indication as to the size of this attraction, that is, if the marking are for the attraction.

And all of this brings up another issue of what about the animals that reside there? Yes, the Zoological dept got hit hard recently and a lot of the animals went elsewhere so there's not that many left residing there now but what about the ones that still do? If this area is turned into a new hamlet with a new, big, attraction that will mean the animals that do stay will have to be relocated to somewhere else and that will be another expense that has to be covered.

RE: 315' Height Waiver: Coaster? Tower? New Hamlet? Madrid?

There's not a whole lot of animals left except for a few sheep and Clydesdales... I'm sure they can move them to the stables in England or create a smaller area in festhaus park.... maybe create a small zoo area since they removed the last one for Elmos world... probably went too far with that idea... :)

I've been thinking about that as well. I wouldn't think that it's impossible to build around the current needed stables with the reduced animal population. Also I don't think that they have huge infrastructure requirements, so maybe they could be relocated to FHP since there's plenty of unused room.

I agree with the reduced animal population the area across the tracks to the left of the train tracks will probably be enough room when combined with the areas in Scotland.

Not that the #BGWProjectMadrid hype train needs any additional fuel right now, but there are a ton of new utility markers in the Festa Field pastures:

I noticed those same flags today. I'm not convinced they are all for utilities. The blue flags followed along the edges of the mulch beds. The white flags were clustered in groups of four. These are not typcal marking patterns for Miss Utility.

RE: 315' Height Waiver: Coaster? Tower? New Hamlet? Madrid?

So something I was thinking about:

If this is a Giga (and I'll assume B&M with that), is it more Levathian style floater air, or more Fury305 terrain hugging ejector air?

So if it's floater air, and this is a new land, do they name it like something like "The Straights" and theme it and the area more around the straights of Gibraltar. Floater air would go along with this IMO (since there's stories with all the coasters) in that it could be a glider tour of the intersection on the Sea and Ocean.

If it's more in the vain of Fury305, I would call it "Matador" or something like that. Keep the new Hamlet as Madrid, and the coaster is your ride on a bull, or better yet, you are running with the bulls.

Hmmm....I really hope that the creative team is thinking what I'm thinking.

I do not believe this is a Giga. I feel like too many things do not add up. Unless it's a new B&M prototype or a different manufacturer than B&M or Intamin, I don't see a Giga happening. There is extremely limited space for something of that nature. Although Tempesto proves space is not very much an issue for Busch, a giga is double the height and needs a real amount of space for a layout. I'm on the side of this being a Starflyer. Busch Gardens could use this in the same way they used Tempesto. Customize and alter the current clone to create what they need for capacity and theme. If executed correctly, which Busch usually does with strange concepts, a Starflyer could work perfectly and be used as a nice anchor attraction for a new area. Being that this project seems to be in the middle of nowhere in terms of accessibility, this is likely an expansion, in which case, I believe will be linking San Marco at the bridge to Festa Italia by Roman Rapids.

Apologies for the poor quality but I drew up initial concept sketches on the JCC GIS site of a small new area which allows the ride, hamlet, and most of the pastures to remain.

RE: 315' Height Waiver: Coaster? Tower? New Hamlet? Madrid?

I've been reading updates on this thread since it surfaced and I'm honestly just excited the park seems to be doing something big. Best case scenario in my opinion is both a new hamlet and a giga coaster. That would be incredible if the park did something like that. Heck, I'd even be happy with just a giga coaster and no new hamlet. Or even just a new hamlet and I think Spain would be really cool. If it's just a star flyer though and no new hamlet, I'd probably be pretty disappointed, though.

I've mentioned this bit of information to my step father who does building inspections with JCC and he said he's yet to hear anything relating to the permits as of now, but as soon as he hears anything regarding it, he'll pass the information along to me, and I'll post here if I hear anything. Until then while everyone tries to dig up more information, I'm enjoying reading the speculation! Hype train is running full-steam!

I am starting to lean toward a starflier myself but on possibility that has crosdrd my mind an I know this is wild speculation is that this could be part of a larger long term expansion prodject. If you expand ijto this area that opens up the possibility of a new Rhine crosding near lumberhack and suddenly the old Drachin Fire site is a lot more open snd attractive for future development. As I said wild speculation but it be nice if Busch was thinking along the lines of a 5 or 10 year plan.

This could potentially be a balloon ride similar to the one at Disney's Pleasure Island. It doesn't need a large horizontal footprint. It could easily reach 315' vertically. It may not have a fast rider turnover, but it would definitely be something completely different.

I have to keep in mind that whatever this turns out to be, we are allegedly getting a new VR ride in Ireland next year, so this would likely be a 2019 addition unless Busch has planned a Star Flyer and Ireland's new attraction as 2 new openings for 2018.

A Giga would need track onsite by end of September, a light winter, and flawless testing for a 2018 Summer opening.

Just kinda seems like a glorified observation tower no?

RE: Project Madrid: New Hamlet? Giga Coaster? 315' Tower?

I think the chance that this is next year is very slim.  SEAS seems to be proud is their VR work right now and I doubt they'll want to take away from that hype, more so that this is a VR attraction that might actually work.  Also keep in mind how open the park has been with their new rides recently.

I would think that they submitted the waiver extremely early to allow for some room in case it's declined.  There's still a lot more process to get the ride approved.
