RE: Project Madrid: New Hamlet? Giga Coaster? 315' Tower?

This may not be a popular sentiment here, but I would rather not ruin the overall park ascetic or distinct hamlets with a giant park covering coaster.

I think you mean "aesthetic."

Ascetic means abstinent and puritanical. :p

Regardless, I agree with tursiops. I'm a bit concerned with how many trees this project will remove and how it will affect the skyline and such. I still think Tempesto is a major eyesore.

I think we should not worry until there is something to worry about.  We have NO idea what is being done.

Agreed. It's just fun to throw stuff against the wall and see what ends up being true and what ends up being wishful thinking.

Realistically, if the park can install something like Tempesto, I'd say worrying about what the park looks like after this install is justified.

But they did gift us InvadR, which has been wonderful.

I err on the side of giving Busch a bit of credit 2017 onward. I know Tempesto is an easy target to "worry" us fans, but its a fun ride for most, if not just an oddly placed but visually striking trick pony, all parks have at least one! :p

I still say in addition to an in-house VR ride and as we are on the coattails of InvadR, we likely have something great to behold soon, all we can do is stay tuned and optimistic!

Busch is getting rid of the bitten maze according to their Instagram. Any possible connection?

Don't misunderstand, I expect there will be LOTS of things to worry over once there is some actual data to go on. My point is that at this point we have no idea what park is doing, so we have no idea what they can screw up. Might as well worry that giant ants are going to come storming over the railroad tracks into Festa. (actually I would enjoy that...)

I would guess, whatever it is, there will be plenty to complain about and lots to point out with great fury and anger that the park will not see or care.

I noticed that too... Any thoughts on this being a giant expansion? I, personally, don't understand another Rhine crossing and think it would look ugly. But this is interesting the timing of Bitten removal and this height waiver. This is the first sign I've seen of Busch expanding to FP

To be fair:
If there is (yes big if) a plan to expand a hamlet to both sides of the river, I think that a 4th crossing would almost have to happen for traffic control. If not you have 2 dead end hamlets that aren't connected.

Dependent how it's done I think it could look nice. If it's done to blend in visually with the train crossing, or be "hidden" by it, I think it's fine.

To add to what has been talked about above, I would love to see them connect the Festa field and FP. Just imagine what could be done......just a wish. ;)

Sort of new information on casetrak :
255ft height waiver with 315 foot being the height after the grade.
Also every document says :ride in the Italy section of the park
Public hearing August 8th at 5:00pm

The 255 ft height waiver is excess of the code limitations, which is 60 ft. So 60 ft plus 225 ft equals 315 ft. They are not counting the initial 60 ft in the waiver. They only need a waiver for the remaining 225 ft.

RE: Project Madrid: New Hamlet? Giga Coaster? 315' Tower?

They really dont need some kind of tower ride, especially one that both area parks (KD and SFA) already have one of them just got this year. Mach Tower was kind of a waste, at least the tower ride at BGT was something completely different.

The markings in Festa Field appear to be related to refurbishment work on the pastures. They appear to be adding new sod and an irrigation system which seems like its a good sign for the animals future on the site so I am guessing a star glider type ride is more likely.

Frankly I would prefer to see animal upgrades over a new hamlet any day. Frankly in terms of cost, this seems far more likely.

I am not sure I would categorize it as an upgrade so much but more repairing years of wear and tear. If it wasn't for the new looking irrigation system which lines up perfectly with the flag markings I would have writen it off as maintenance and not read anything into the future but why lay in pipes if you are going to build on the site in the next 2 years?
