General Information:

"Project Drachen Spire," is a community-generated identifier for the Intamin-made, multi-launch, shuttle giga coaster that was originally slated to open at Busch Gardens Williamsburg in 2021. The attraction is planned to utilize the currently-vacant land behind Verbolten, Festhaus Park—the former home of Drachen Fire.

The coaster's main layout—as leaked before the addition was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic—featured two launches, two spikes (one spiral, one vertical-ish), and a couple of banked turns. Drachen Spire was designed to run two trains by means of a pair of switch tracks connecting the primary, shuttle portion of the layout to the station platform.

Looking specifically at only the station plans that just got leaked, and how almost none of the potentials make any sense, maybe the plan was just one attempt to re-use the station? Maybe the one plan that got leaked was a "maybe" scenario and all other potential plans have long trains and a rebuilt station. Idk but nothing else makes sense to me. A giga in one of the most popular parks in the country with 16 riders per train?

I know it doesn't address the height aspect...
After looking at photos of Drachen Fire, with the technological advances over the past 30-ish years, to somehow replicate many of it's elements into a Blitz launch would be (IMHO) one hell of a ride. Maybe take it further and add a few more inversions to pass Steel Curtain...

The most popular park in Spain just did it with 12.

@Zachary here's an overhead.
I'm pulling 4g on the turns, but the biggest problems are the fact that the launch and brake tracks are a hair too short. Launching at 1.2g barely gets me up to full 103mph speed (and red force is only 1.2g). I may have messed up, however. Brake runs are also fairly cramped and probably would need some modifications. Other than that, it doesn't get close to verbolten and the train, and checks out.

EDIT:

With a bit of modifications, it works better. Brake run is able to fully bring the train to a stop, and the launch now reaches full speed at 1.1g.

What @FoozMuz wrote got me thinking (that's scary, I know). I'm not sure which coaster he's referring and I wonder how many total trains it has.

Anyway, researching I saw our favorite contributor @warfelg did a measurement back in 2017 of Fury's lift hill. Using that same measurement tool, it's about 550ft from station to (about) the FP 2021 high point. So, it appears a standard chain would work, perhaps with a slightly steeper incline.

I saw the (above) comments on the NL2 mockup of @Zachary's idea. So, instead of a drop toward the railroad tracks, how about a U-turn on the lift hill and drop back towards the station and then back towards the Rhine? Basically make it a real giga with multiple trains and use more land like @Zachary's double launch idea.

I'm still not a giga fan but trying to see how it could work...

2nd hill drop facing Rhine - would check that box.

Maybe the curved track out of the station is curving UP, a la Tempesto.
This may be a small coaster ride of sorts... A Gerstlauer Infinity or Euro-fighter type, perhaps? BGW could use one (and get rid of Tempesto).

If I understand GrandpaD correctly, out of station, shoot straight to top - return back toward station, bank East.
That’s where I’m curious if it’s feasible to add 2nd hill that would drop toward Rhine, or drop/cross Rhine inlet.

Edit: post top-hat, a wide bank East, 270-degrees, up 2nd hill, dropping into bridge across Rhine inlet and then back to station.

I’ll flesh out the environment before making a POV - sorry if you guys have been waiting

How dare you not complete your completely voluntary and exacting project for a website of park enthusiasts of questionable backgrounds in a timely manor!?

That's it! I am going to burn my ParkFans pass! This place has gone to...

Oh wait, what was I saying?

Right.

Thanks dude!

so turns out I was designing the entire time with incorrect scaling on my template/overlay, which explains why I was having such a hard time getting this thing up to speed comfortably haha - still checks out, will just extend the launch section

Food for thought... Building on previously discussed options. First tophat (T1) the 300-foot drop. T2 a second hill, dropping into the Rhine inlet, then back to station.
